Screwed up an import from Discogs and the first disc ended up having only two tracks instead of four. Would appreciate any votes to expedite this since I can’t wait to rip it & listen to it on my phone

I’m going to merge two RGs with different artists. One uses an uncredited band name, the other one the names of the persons behind the project. All physical releases and most platforms use individual artists (a collaboration), so I merge into the latter.
But there’s another possibility: We could rename the artist Unifony in “Minco Eggersman & Theodoor Borger” - these are the core members of the project, joined by further artists on each of their albums. In this case I would have to change the direction of my merges (I also initiated recording merges, same direction).

Best I can tell the no vote is based on a misunderstanding: I am not adding album cover art to a single by mistake, but rather it is one of the many examples of digital singles that re-use the cover art from the associated album deliberately.

I duplicated a release because of a name variation (Ckid released one EP as Crashkid) so I want to fix that by merging the releases and artists together. And I understand it’s usual to merge into the older mb entry but I felt like I should merge the releases in the same direction as the artists, if that makes any sense. Anyways, I am interested in input Open Edits for Ckid - MusicBrainz

The recordings for this release have been edited to remove almost all relationships, with the following note: "Not laid out per-track.
Also, “佐々木史郎” in the producer relationship is incorrect, so it should be removed.!

Furthermore, if you decide to remove relationship from the recordings, I think it would be appropriate to add them to the releases in which those recordings are used. Otherwise, we’ll lose everything.

This was due to the user script in [request] Userscript to move recording-level relationships to the release-level in the Release Edit Relationships page not working properly for this page. If it did then they would have been properly moved to the release level but the extension constantly throws up this error.
Also, in general, the instrument credits are not assigned per specific track so it’s against the guidelines to have them on all the recordings.

You may be right, but I don’t see COWBOY BEBOP NO DISC in your link.
Do you have the booklet to see if we have track credits or release credits, for this one?
Or do you have signs (in the edit history, for example) that release credits were mistakenly applied as track credits?

The main page that was linked here had the uploader stop short of uploading the full booklet, so the place the info was gotten from was a bootleg edition (which is more or less accurate to the original print).

It looks like these are in fact track credits:
It says which tracks were recorded in which city, and then it gives instrument credits per city.
No?
Even at that though, it’s a session musician credit for who took part in the overall recordings, rather than a track by track breakdown of which performer was performing on each of them.
It doesn’t tell us if the Harmonica player was on every single Tokyo track, or if it’s always every Trumpeter, Trombonist, or Saxophonist on a track where you hear one or more of each instrument in it.
It’s like an album where you have different artists (or in the case of a soundtrack, composers) working with their own session musicians on a soundtrack, but not every track in either will feature all of those instruments and session musicians.
The only ones where the session musician credits can apply per-track are 12 and 18, which are in France and the UK respectively and have, of course, only one track from each.
