Requests for Votes Thread

I made this edit votable because it’s kind of ambiguous. The Dr Demento track is the only VA compilation track for Lehrer that I haven’t been able to identify confidently enough to say it’s the same recording (or isn’t). For sure in at least one case he cut some of the talk from a live recording.

So either it’s an edit of the source track, or they should be merged. But I don’t know which.

I added a new release to the Swedish synthpop artist SURGE. However, I accidentally selected the wrong artist with the same name. I then tried to fix my own error.

I think I managed to fix everything else, but when I updated the artists of each track, MusicBrainz decided to create a new medium for some reason.

ModBot left a comment: “Can’t move a medium into position 1, where one already exists.”

So, now I’m trying to remove the second medium. It is confusing that in the release page it still shows the wrong psy-trance artist, but in the edit view the link points to the right synthpop artist. I’m so confused!

I would appreciate if someone could check this out. There should be only one medium and the correct artist is the Swedish synthpop SURGE. Thank you and sorry!

I believe this release should be reviewed by the Community.
There are open edits I did, which change this to what it actually is: a bootleg Digital release on Reddit & Youtube.
All information is explained in the edit notes:

Yet another artist needs to be split, but I can’t split it because of a relationship. Please help me get rid of that relationship so I can split the artist.

I’m winding down on these Tom Lehrer edits. Going over the discography with a fine-toothed comb, I realized one of the Dr. Demento tracks needs its own recording. Hoping for a quick fix so I can add the second one that needs to go to that recording.

[Done, thanks @IvanDobsky]

Edit #117796407

This recording is being merged, would like to remove this erroneous work before that happens, thanks

Edit: thanks for the votes, sorry I wasn’t aware of the 48-hour rule, haha

Edit #117797646 could use some more eyes on it, I don’t really understand work publishing so I’m unsure if it’s right or not.

Fix a bunch of tracks accidentally linking to duplicate recordings.

Rick Nelson correction: Edit #117919122 - MusicBrainz

I started some of these individually but there’s so many. Easier to fix a few the other way, if needed (but I haven’t found any yet).

[Squared away, thanks]

I entered this merge, but both releases have been here so long without being merged, I’m doubting myself. Wouldn’t mind a few extra eyes to make sure I didn’t miss something, and I have more edits to do once the merge is complete (or canceled).

Updated tracklist to the newest one from Steam soundtrack description.

Hello all. Can I get a heap of votes on this to speed an experiment through please?

From here:

Not sure why this kinda edit isn’t an auto-edit for normal editors, but also isn’t for AE’s. We tried to flip the series to Manual numbering to see if a bug still showed up.

Would like to accelerate some corrections that came from inaccuracies in liner notes:

Would appreciate some eyes on these two edits.

A beginner editor is trying to make a lot of changes. I’ve tried to explain some to them. If editors want to help me explain some things that’d be of help. Or they really have some that might be correct. But looks to me they are trying to apply changes based solely on how they see it on Spotify to physical media, etc.

Going to need to merge the following in order:
Edit #118120790 - MusicBrainz | https://musicbrainz.org/edit/118120802
Edit #118120792 - MusicBrainz | Edit #118120803 - MusicBrainz

@xlosvs has entered a lot of edits changing Dr Who audio dramas from the performers, to the “Dr Who” character artist entry.

I believe this to be incorrect, but would appreciate more input because it’s a lot of edits to no-vote on: Edit #118300693 - MusicBrainz

edit: I’m out of time to vote on the extent of these edits tbh. There’s a lot

edit 2: some similar edits related to the BBC as artist
