I made this edit votable because it’s kind of ambiguous. The Dr Demento track is the only VA compilation track for Lehrer that I haven’t been able to identify confidently enough to say it’s the same recording (or isn’t). For sure in at least one case he cut some of the talk from a live recording.
So either it’s an edit of the source track, or they should be merged. But I don’t know which.
I added a new release to the Swedish synthpop artist SURGE. However, I accidentally selected the wrong artist with the same name. I then tried to fix my own error.
I think I managed to fix everything else, but when I updated the artists of each track, MusicBrainz decided to create a new medium for some reason.
ModBot left a comment: “Can’t move a medium into position 1, where one already exists.”
So, now I’m trying to remove the second medium. It is confusing that in the release page it still shows the wrong psy-trance artist, but in the edit view the link points to the right synthpop artist. I’m so confused!
I would appreciate if someone could check this out. There should be only one medium and the correct artist is the Swedish synthpop SURGE. Thank you and sorry!
I’m winding down on these Tom Lehrer edits. Going over the discography with a fine-toothed comb, I realized one of the Dr. Demento tracks needs its own recording. Hoping for a quick fix so I can add the second one that needs to go to that recording.
I entered this merge, but both releases have been here so long without being merged, I’m doubting myself. Wouldn’t mind a few extra eyes to make sure I didn’t miss something, and I have more edits to do once the merge is complete (or canceled).
Not sure why this kinda edit isn’t an auto-edit for normal editors, but also isn’t for AE’s. We tried to flip the series to Manual numbering to see if a bug still showed up.
A beginner editor is trying to make a lot of changes. I’ve tried to explain some to them. If editors want to help me explain some things that’d be of help. Or they really have some that might be correct. But looks to me they are trying to apply changes based solely on how they see it on Spotify to physical media, etc.
