Would someone approve this please? I accidentally edited the release group instead of the release, which wouldn’t be so urgent except it’s about to be renamed, and then it will be totally wrong. ![]()
[Done, thanks @rafwuk]

Japanese editors: Am I correct that for JP release community consensus is to use the JP titles/script from the obi, rather than the back cover?
Someone in Discord was asking about these tracklist edits:

@HibiscusKazeneko added the release.
Thanks!
I believe a song that happens to later appear in a film, does not make this song part of this film soundtrack, does it?
Hello, me again, looking for votes so I can fix the other 3 releases as well in a timely manner after this goes through.
Wouldn’t mind some more eyes on this edge case, concerning the “Soundtrack” release group type: Edit #116412164 - MusicBrainz
My personal opinion is clear from the notes, but I can see both sides.
Posting a bit tentatively because I don’t want it to look like I’ve asked for a pile-on against the one no vote – if that’s the way it goes – but I was hoping it would get more attention naturally, and I think it would be good for settling the issue going forward to have more than one vote.
This is all there is to vote on right now, but I hemmed and hawed when I added this release.
Is it a Ma Rainey solo credit? A “Ma Rainey’s Tub Jug Washboard Band” credit? Discogs and MusicBrainz both have separate entries for the Tub Jug Washboard Band without Ma Rainey, but it feels wrong to credit Ma Rainey and [her] Tub Jug Washboard Band, even though that’s what I did.
I’ve been digging through Tom Lehrer’s discography and trying to add appropriate relationships between release groups, disambiguate recordings to the best of my ability, etc. All open for input, of course, but I especially wanted to see what you all think of these merges.
Thanks for the help so far! A little more on the Tom Lehrer updates: I’ve been trying to be very careful with recording merges to make sure they’re not overlapping and all have the same targets, but it’s getting tougher the deeper I get. Would be great to have them resolved before I start another round.
Also requesting a quick fix on correcting this single. [Done, thanks]
-Update-
I really appreciate the folks diligently voting, especially @chabreyflint. While waiting for some of the recording merges to clear, I started documenting and updating based on what I could see of recordings that might need to say separate. That’s led to some disambiguation and medium edits, and will require more in the long run (in particular, “An Evening Wasted With Tom Lehrer” has at least two distinct recordings for most tracks based on different divisions in his commentary). Any help getting those cleared would be welcome.

Received a No vote, but I believe the edit is correct.
I just explained why up there.
Would be good if some others shared their judgement on this one.
tl;dr: Artist merge request, possibly a “Renamed to” relationship might be more appropriate, not sure. Currently “Subgroup” relationship, which doesn’t look correct to me.
Seeking opinions about the intersection of the soundtrack and Japanese guidelines at Edit #117002372 - MusicBrainz.
(Also https://musicbrainz.org/edit/117002374 and https://musicbrainz.org/edit/117002380, but it’s better to keep discussion in a single place.)
Is there a reason to make this “version of” rather than the same work?
I would appreciate if anyone could upvote this edit to add a missing bonus track to a CD, so I can quickly attach a disc ID to the release.
Edit: Thank you, jesus2099.
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone could upvote removing the members of for this band I added. At the moment the band appears and members of the members and the members show up as members of the band (hope that makes sense lol). This should be the link to all of them.
But if that doesn’t work I can link them all below ![]()

Withdrawn or not? This release was updated on Bandcamp, removing track 12 (and the artist has shut down most websites and streaming sources). But track 12 is still on Spotify. So I could cancel the withdrawn status and add the spotify link, or add another release for Spotify that has all 14 tracks.
Looking for opinions on whether this removal of the Wikidata link of a video game from its soundtrack work is right?
It would be nice to get some votes on edit https://musicbrainz.org/edit/117494600
It’s the first edit of a series to split a recording into it’s original version (2011) and the remixed one (2020)
Thanks in advance
I have a few recording merges to get through:
https://musicbrainz.org/edit/117394279
https://musicbrainz.org/edit/117394238
https://musicbrainz.org/edit/117405453
I did this and then realised there are a few more things to correct, don’t want to wait a week for it to potentially conflict and fail
Thanks
Edit: never mind, I just realised I messed up, haha
i’ve been doing a lot of editing for user-177606668. it’s a shared account on soundcloud/spotify/etc that functions as a big shared alias. i’d like some thoughts on this edit to split a sub-alias into its own artist
main edit for discussion: Edit #117562493 - MusicBrainz
all relevant edits: Open Edits for DJ LS3 DA ALDEIA - MusicBrainz
I’ve always thought that the main entity’s WD link should be fine if there is no particular soundtrack article. It just doesn’t make sense to me to not link to the most equivalent article.
