I finally submitted by first GSoC proposal draft yay!
Also have worked on import feature, so now basically we can import playlists from Spotify! (the code is ready but not yet merged haha)

Quite a bit of time finalising designs for a visual upgrade for the LB app local player
Just to get it in line with the rest of the app, visually
Some time making and linking tickets for user locations/areas in ListenBrainz, and support for events, which there’s been a bit of interest in

For the last week, I have been mostly touring Europe. Didn’t do much work except answering some queries for mayhem and prospective GSoC applicants.
Will be going to BCN and meeting up with mayhem tonight.

last week I worked more on JSON dump improvements (and sitemaps, as these share code), mainly converting them to use dbmirror2 packets and updating their tests, which currently build old dbmirror packets by hand (ugh)
also worked on improving tests for the FollowForeignKeys role so we can finally fix [MBS-10911: Some URL relations missing in JSON dumps] (which has a mitigation in place that slows down the full dumps)
I submitted the actual bug fixes from this branch in [PR 3194]
also did some code review for the MB beta release today (?)

I did more of the same shit as previous week, that is working on cueshit.
It can now automatically detect the format of its input, so a lot of CLI arguments are now optional.
I also have integrated FFmpeg into it to extract embedded chapters from multimedia files and added a “split” subcommand to split multimedia content into its chapters.
Other than that I have again spent a bit of time researching ORM alternatives for BB and noted my thoughts on [BB-729: Replace Bookshelf ORM].
This week I will be focussing on an upcoming exam, so expect little news from me for the next meeting.

[monkey] Last week I was sick for a bit so it was a short one
I mostly worked on reviewing PRs for BB and LB, including ansh’s big PR for LB single page app
Kudos to him
Also helped new contributors and answered questions
And a SEC ticket or two
Also got a new laptop and spent some time assembling it and setting myself up

after spending a bit of time recovering from my visit to BCN, I started working on a new Ansible role for installing/managing ZooKeeper
this will be required for the new Solr deployment
I also had some preliminary discussions with mayhem regarding requirements/expectations for the new Matrix server

[mayhem] last week, I had a cold too, so things were a bit slower.
so I did the usual background tasks of keeping MeB running. including being accused of being criminals in Norway. or was that the week before? too many nutters to remember them all.
at the end of the week I started to play european tourguide for lucifer and started to work on the LB radio improvements again.
quite week and I dont expect this week to be much better with lucifer in town and a board meeting tomorrow evening.

[ansh] Last week, I mostly worked on rewriting a lot of tests for SPA PR, and making some review changes.
I also worked on BrainzPlayer SPA migration and fixing my Listening Queues PR a bit.
I won’t be available much this week as I have my mid semester examination lined up.

Not much done last weel as I was touring with my son in sunny Spain.
SOLR cluster acted up on last Tuesday, after a restart things came back to normal, yvanzo helped on this too
apart that, usual user support, PRs reviews, and general supervision.

We had an amazing last week! The LB android app is working great
Everything is working as it should
Listens submission and listening now are smooth af
Also, I resolved many queries over mail
Got the response from folks that things are working fine and all in a very positive mindset. People seem to be looking forward to more things coming : )
Not much other than that, we have started planning for making things rock solid and driving things in a systematic fashion. After one long year, I think the apps have found the right mixture of everything and our team is rock solid

Also, I started BP revamp in android
Had a chat with aerozol regarding search flow
And swiping between pages
Hoping to make progress before the next weekly meet and finish all screens

Last week I deployed Solr 9.5.0 to https://test.musicbrainz.org
I also restored the current SolrCloud which got stuck a second time on Tuesday.
Started to work on Redis doc now that RabbitMQ doc is complete.
Plus some MBS patches, PR reviews, support, tickets triage.

Last week I moved to an actual apartment!
(no internet though)
Other than that, I worked on the Spanish translation (all the stuff that was already translated is now reviewed and seems mostly fine, although I’m sure I missed some stuff)
I also worked on some URL handling links and other similar small issues, plus had some discussions about the upcoming schema change release in May and worked on a couple related tickets

Been working on revamping feed UX, I love designing xD
Other than that worked on making app’s colour scheme consistent
