Morning
Some one added the song You’re all I want for Christmas written by Brook Benton.
The song is not written by Brook Benton but by Bennie Benjamin and Sol Marcus

In MB we have a version written by Seger Ellis and Glenn Moore.
So I’m confused now.
Cos of this edit I made a few wrong edits. How can I change them fast to the right composer / lyricist? And which one are the right composer / lyricist

You mean two different version sung by Brook Benton or two different songs cos of the writers?
And how can I changes my wrong edit to the correct one?
And what does Request for votes mean cos I dont see anything there

I’m sorry I was a bit brief. At noon, I didn’t really have time to check the forum. But I couldn’t resist, to look up the songs on YouTube.
We are dealing with two different songs that have the same title, and there seems to be some confusion. I find Spotify the funniest: Spotify – Web Player Try singing along to the song lyrics shown.
It will be really hard to untangle them. One was written by Benjamin/Marcus but even Universal Music Group doesn’t seem to know that → https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fASJnLMpm4o
I’ll take a look what’s on MB…

The situation doesn’t look bad at all.
There are really 3 works with the same title and all cover versions seem to use the Moore/Ellis song.
In all recordings where a work was assigned, the correct one was chosen. I found at least one example per artist to listen to or see credits on Discogs images.
It seems that the Benjamin/Marcus song was performed almost exclusively by Brook Benton. However, there is no guarantee of this. A defensive merge strategy is recommended.

In this case, I usually put the beginning lyrics in the 3 disambiguation comments.
It’s the easiest way to select the right song.

In this case, the first line of each song is not really useful.
“You’re all I want for Christmas…” (Moore/Ellis) ← that’s the title
“I want my arms around you for Christmas…” (Benjamin/Marcus)
“You’re all, all I want for Christmas…” (Allen) ← the Salsoul Orchestra version, that’s almost the title and not good for distinguishing it from Moore/Ellis
But I’ve added ISWCs to Benjamin/Marcus and Allen songs and for the latter the writer (Dolores Allen).
Then I would put this already different first verses, and the second verses, as well.
