OK, because I add many thematic song covers based on other songs, I finally recognized some problem. Are next cases classified as parody version of original song or songs that are based on same song?
- “Despacito” → "“Update Windows” - DESPACITO 2 PARODY SONG "
- “Lagtrain” → “Lagtrain but it’s Soldier from TF2” (Linked topic: Russian translation of Team Fortress 2 parody that uses Russian translation of original song. Which relationship should be used in this case?)
- “Мало половин” (Not Enough soulmates) → " МАМА Я АДМИН - Пародия на Бузову “Мало половин” (cs:GO|cs1.6)Сантехник(КЛИП)" (Mom, I’m an admin, CS:GO parody)
- “ЭКСПЕРИМЕНТ НЕ БЫЛ ПРОВАЛЬНЫМ | Песня Гастера из Undertale” (The Experiment Was Not a Failure, song about Gaster, Undertale character) → "ПЛАН БУХАСТЕРА БЫЛ ПРОВАЛЬНЫМ (ПЕРЕОЗВУЧКА-КАВЕР ЭКСПЕРИМЕНТ НЕ БЫЛ ПРОВАЛЬНЫМ от JF Voice) " (The Experiment of Gastershot Was a Failure, the parody about drinking Gaster)
On one hand people often call them ‘parodies’, both authors and listeners do that and it is clear why. But on other hand, all these songs are really separate, with different lyrics and their theme. So what is more correct in context of MB DB and MB style guidelines?
