Last year, a mass merge accidentally merged two recordings that should have stayed separate. I tried editing a release (one of several containing this track) and adding a new recording, but because the edit is queued, I couldn’t find a way to access the newly created recording to add relationships and link it to other releases. So I cancelled that edit, with the idea that I could just create a new recording and then hook everything up. But if I create a “standalone recording” and then link it…

How do I split recordings?

I read and read the guides, I used google search, I searched the forum… and still I can’t find what to do with something like this: clearly it’s not one recording, but two, the second being a live cover of the first. I guess this is true for every track on “Męskie Granie 2016”, I haven’t checked everything though. How do I change that? I tried to work it out, but I can’t seem to find the right solution. Cheers.

How to revert recording merge?

Edit #60587125 is incorrect: Recording from “Избранное” album — WITH orchestra. Recording from “Интервью” album — WITHOUT orchestra. Is there any was to revert the edit?

Decoupling popular recording

There’s a recording, that is used for 2 separate versions of a track (one with a featured artist, one without). Both distinctly different recordings. It seems they were globbed together at some point, and I’m not sure how to separate them properly (and without mess) now. From the release, you can see track #5 has no featured artist, track #13 does have a featured artist. Both use the same recording erroneously.

How can I un-merge a recording?

I’m trying to organize different recordings of “Don’t Fall in Love with a Dreamer” by Kenny Rogers and Kim Carnes.
