Current MultipleTitleStyle guidelines (unfortunately) says to always use “/”. 
Didn’t know that one. Kinda weird as it contradicts other guidelines of use what is on the cover. It changes these titles into something that is nothing like the cover artwork. No wonder that has led to confusion.

It’s why I just follow the crowd as some discussion has happened out of sight.
I tried searching those same docs to see why “2 for 1” is not part of the title even though it is printed there on the cover and spine. Can’t find that, so just see what the majority has done in the series and follow it. It is a useful side of series that we can see the patterns that were agreed.
I really think not every word on the cover belongs to the title. If you’d put this to the extreme than the title would be something like “2 for 1, Universal, The Police, Outlkandos D’amour + Regatta de blanc” or such. The “2 for 1” part is for me clearly a separate logo, both on the cover and the spine.

That is strange cherry-picking, since people are adding spam like crazy here for personal taste all the time… (barcode is a release, a sticker on cover is a release etc.). Series name is NOT purelly a marketing and NOT a personal taste, its prominently in the title in majority of cases. Just because YOU think its irrelevant it doesn’t mean it is. This is not limited to music either. Its mostly there on Discogs and in digital releases so all must be irrelevant info hoarders.
IMO, there should be a standard for this on the wiki - always add series name.
Also, TBH, my comment definitely doesn’t deserve such burst of anger, to call it a shit, and seems mods here are also cherry-picking user behavior and I will reconsider coming here at all.

Discogs does lots of stupid things, let’s not make doing stupid things the norm.
Be that as it may, with the series name before the title or not, there simply needs to be clarity on this, and that is currently lacking.
My opinion: Yes, mention the series name before the title of the release, because I personally find it an important part and it makes things clearer to distinguish between releases. A Dutch example is that there are many releases from De Zangeres zonder Naam that have the same title. With the series name in front of the title there is a clear distinction between the releases.
If you are talking about crap in the titles, why are there so many releases with LIVE behind the title…? There is a place for that.

Very true, but first, you have to get the majority to agree on the rule.
There are always exceptions to a rule, as you examples showed.
Some people are more passionate than others, please do not take disagreements as personal attacks. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion, and everyone has the right to agree or disagree.
The point of a community is discussion and agreement. Everyone has a different viewpoint. We just have to stay calm when discussing.
I also see the logic to not have the “2 for 1” logo in the Release Title. Especially as the community had already come to a solution on that series.
There are a few occasions where something like this series title is used and becomes necessary if is literally the only title on the cover.
Example: 5 Original Albums - MusicBrainz
In this example it is the name of the package that is purchased.
I have a few of these: Original Album Series - MusicBrainz
And these to me fit into that category of - use the title the community agreed on.

That’s all fine with me, as long as I can find it somewhere in the Documentation. And that is not the case right now.

We do include titles and subtitles.
If series name is shown as part of the title (5 Original Albums), then OK, but here, series name is separated from the titles, as I showed above. Isn’t it separated from the title by the artist name (and also label logos, on the cover)?
But we have the series relationship, just like we have the label field, we don’t need to shove everything in the title field.

I said I can see why some people do not want to include that text and it has already been agreed long ago. The reason I added those two examples is in case someone now starts writing a guideline as you can’t just say “all series names should not be used”. There are cases when the title is needed as printed.

If you would like to post a link to the disputed edit in the request votes thread then more people can vote. If you get a lot of votes and discussion on an edit it is very good, because you can point to it later to confirm that the wider community (not just you and whoever happens to be following the series) has come to some kind of decision (or majority, at least).

Its not a bout the No vote. Its a bout the fact I ask for advice on the forum I do what is been told to me and THEN I get NO votes. So that is confusing to me. Cos my English is not very good it confuses me. That is why simplefied my original question with option 1 and option 2
