I’m working on this series: 2 for 1 - MusicBrainz
Some of the releases have the series name inf front of it, others don’t.
How to add the releases:
Either…
From the SERIES side, use the Has Parts and past the URLs of the releases
From the RELEASES side, at the bottom of Edit Relationship page, click “Add Series”
These are already added, so you don’t need to add them again.
As to why some have the series name in front and others don’t… just inconsistent style.

I would put 2 for 1 in front of the release title cos it’s on the cover and it looks way nicer
I think you and I are in the minority. Looking at most of those releases the “2 for 1” is missing. So I guess someone made a decision.
I agree that the title on the package is clearly “2 for 1: No More Drama + Love & Life” and is what I would have used.
At the very least, the + should be used instead of a /

yes I know but there are a lot of series that do have the series name in front of it. That is why I’m getting confused and I wanna know what the official rules are cos I can’t find anything about that.
2 for 1 is clearly marketing and has nothing to do with any title.

IMO, we clearly see (or so I think):
- Series name logo => Series relationship
- ARTIST NAME => Release artist
- ALBUM 1 + ALBUM 2 => Release title
I see this in this order, series name logo is not in front of titles, there is even the artist name in between.
Use the predominant current standard as there isn’t official one.
I, for one, love to have series in the title as that way its easier to work with series in the file system. But if there are a lot of items in the series, its not realistic to change them all and as we can see people have different opinions on it. Given its unrealistic to have single title format in almost all cases having more than a couple of items, I rename my local copy and preserve that tag dynamically so it isn’t overwritten in the future when I update the tags (I also use plugin that adds series name and item position to the tags, but that helps me for selection in audio player and not in the file system).
In short, I think you can use whatever is easiest for you.

@Jesus I have changed some releases from / to + and some one voted no to my edits.
@majkinetor It bothers me immensely that it isn’t all the same. And this is yet another one of those things for which there are no fixed rules, and so it becomes a mess.

BTW, in MB, it’s (now) usually more a matter of following what’s printed, which is not always consistent between series volumes, than personal taste or than standardising.
So, indeed, it’s usually unrealistic to have single title format.

In this series, I have yet to come across 1 album where it does NOT say 2 for 1 on the cover. So in this series, it is possible. And how should the two albums be separated now, with a + or a /?
A number of people in this forum say with a +. So I changed a number of albums to + and I got a no vote from someone.
There are so many contradictions in the rules that a normal person can’t make sense of them, and as I said before, now it is a mess.
I wonder why it is so difficult to get a definitive answer to a question.
Then someone says that it wouldn’t be realistic to make it uniform, but if there were clear rules for once, then it would be worth the effort for me to clean it up.
It is very frustrating when you follow the advice on the forum and then get No votes. I think that is a real waste of my time.
If you see “2 in 1” on the printed title, then put it.
But I didn’t see that.
If the printed spine or cover uses “+” to separate titles, then use that too.
The doc says to use “/” if there is no punctuation already printed.

It’s a series logo, and it’s far from the title, also, above the artist name.
What does the spine say?

square block, then artist name, and then, only then, the title(s) (with “+” separator).
So, “2 for 1” is not presented as part of the title, neither on cover nor on spine.
That is the image I was also about to post with the title on the spine. Looks just like the title to me. Agree I also find this confusing, and certainly don’t understand a down vote on the use of a plus sign.
I also tend to follow what @majkinetor says:
I tend to follow what I see as I assume there is a conversation in a long buried edit note deciding on the pattern to follow. I find it not worth arguing over stuff like this and just rename my own titles on my own tracks.
Ivan I’m asking for advice on this forum and I follow that and then my edits get a no vote. I think thatis worth arguing about it. I think its worth arguing about things that have no clear rules it becomes a mess. But thank you all for your time.
