The week before last was quite busy trying to do some careful BTS-related comms/a blog post. But it seems they had already turned their attention elsewhere, anyway.

so last week i work on the migration of main page and its components like footer and navbar
and alot of static pages
and also work on some reviews on my previous PRs.
and also got a very long and warm review from monkey in mid term evaluation .
thanks for your time and yupp so following your suggestion , now doing the most of the boring work by myself

This week i was mostly travelling so was not able to get much done. But looked into some reviews by monkey: in PRs ( i hope now the plugin setup will be working… )
In the upcoming week i am planning to add remaning features in browse tab and maybe complete it ?

[monkey] Last week I worked on an ongoing grant application for BookBrainz, for which we are still in the running.
I worked on various aspects of the ListenBrainz infrastructure, looking at our bottlenecks.
I worked on the OAuth migration, and some UI and translations for the MetaBrainz website
Had a meeting with jherskowitz#0 to say hi and to discuss contributing back stream URL to MB/LB
Reviewed GSOC projects and filled the mid-term evaluations
And chatted with Haris about moods research
And refactored our tooltips in LB to get rid of a dependency instead of updating it

Last week was busy. I did the release for libdiscid 0.7.0 and posted a blog post about it. Also some minor release for python-discid to update the published wheel on PyPI.
Also of course picard. I did several bugfixes and improvements and reviewed zas’ PRs. We want to release another beta this week. Focusing on gettings this finished and polished for a final 3.0 release.

Write up a GSoC midterm review, did a bit of work on a release for Continuwuity

I’ve mostly been really tired for some reason, still need to catch up on some admin.

A lot of stuff on the Picard 3 side: a major rework of the plugin CLI into a subcommand architecture to fit the new CLI for option profiles (upcoming import/export), unified config upgrade framework (also related to profiles imports), new script variables (_artistcomment, _albumartistcomment), and several bug fixes including a crash on collection menu deletion and an NFC/NFD encoding issue when saving metadata. Also reviewed phw’s PRs.
I set up static.listenbrainz.org end-to-end (DNS, gateway, consul), retired the legacy lua-resty-auto-ssl stack and migrated all domains to resty.acme.
I cut gateway consul-template watches (openresty) from thousands to one hundred using a tree+explode approach, following a production outage on Jul 10.
Plus usual supervision, system upgrades, user support.

last week I was mostly working on addressing reosarevok’s review feedback on PR-3810 and fixing test failures
I’m going to see how feasible it is to get the metabrainz server set up in our selenium tests this week

For the last two weeks I started to catch up with MusicBrainz Search/Server reviews.

last week i worked on adding the 3rd party seeded registration workflow and also looked into exposing the oauth service internally using https.

I mostly reviewed bitmap’s code for the OAuth migration for MB
Plus worked on the Spanish translation for the MetaBrainz page to have it ready for migration day and help find out any issues so other volunteer translators hopefully don’t hit them : )
(we did find and fix a bunch of them already, thanks lucifer and monkey)
And general ED “boring” stuff Including coordinating one thing with @monkey which he did not mention, which is trying to get the broken AC in the Barcelona office replaced so we do not melt during the summit
(things seem to be moving but no promises they’ll move fast enough for the summit… we can hope though)
Plus some additional talk about the next ED hiring - hopefully we will have news in the next couple of weeks at most!
And booking some more flights for the summit - we’re almost all ready now

largely patching city for me: underlying server patches for staff SSO/MB wiki/jira, plus updating staff SSO itself after a security release happened (and apparently that will happen again later this week)
also got a couple more board members onboarded to MeB systems to help us with things as needed
and helped Jade get the major release of continuwuity out the door by handling packaging for fedora-family distros and opensuse!
(i use continuwuity for the same matrix homeserver i’m sending these messages from)
hopefully will be able to focus more on MeB things as the rest of my life allows

I have one thing in the meantime: Just wanted to say thanks to the LB and server teams. Things are probably not fully save yet, but you did a great job handling the load issues for LB.

I do not want to cancel next meeting to then cancel the release and have neither : )

Summit concert

As we discussed at some point, some of the team wanted to go to this concert in BCN on the 10th of October: Mohama Saz + Esperanto Tickets | €22.05 | 10 Oct @ PARAL·LEL 62, Barcelona | DICE
This is not a “MeB” activity, it’s just a “whoever wants to go, let’s do so” activity - people are more than welcome to chill in the lodgings or do something else instead
But for those who do want to join, I’d suggest buying the tickets just in case they end up selling out later : )
