Reviews
failure_san:
[mailed in] [failure] Last week I worked on implementing the artist and event follow tables, and writing a DAL for the same. I also added tests for the same.
Then I worked on the review comments from my first PR, adding event to event and event to series relationships and other stuff. I also worked on adding tests tor the same.
Lastly, I also started working on implementing the API endpoints, and it should be a done in a few days.

[mailed in] Last few weeks I haven’t been very active, but I did push a new update to SAMBL , which fixes Apple Music and adds a new provider: Volumo.
I won’t be able to make these for the next month or so unfortunately, but I’m still free later in the day if anyone needs to message me about anything.
outsidecontext:
Last week I melted in the heat here. But I got some stuff done in Picard with bugfixes for session restore and missing sdist package on the PyPI release. And code reviews for zas’ changes he did despite travelling.
I also worked on implementing PICARD-2673 (separating artist name standardization for name variations or actual name changes). Won’t be ready for the beta release we plan to do tomorrow, but soon after.
PICARD-2673 : Standardize artist name variations by default
And I did restore lost Malay translations from Transifex on Weblate for the MB server components after some forum request.
waqib2992:
Last week i spent most of my crafting prs for CaliBBre . it ends the work for the metadata tab for now.
(will make one more PR adding some documentation on how to use the plugin)
In the upcoming Week, I plan to get feedback and review on the code and make changes accordingly and also start working on the new tab browse bookbrainz
ApeKattQuest_MonkeyPython:
[ApeKattQuest] it’s too hot here to think here (feelsbadman for anyone else in places hotter than this) so mostly I’ve been a̵d̵d̵i̵n̵g̵ editing releases and looking at merging obscure african highlife bands and the like
probably gonna continue with that, too tired and hot to do anything else
julian45:
this week was mostly of a patching nature, plus backseat driving suggesting potential refactors/improvements in MeB projects like search and LB
currently preparing for heat wave as my region is expected to get up to heat index 107°F (approx 42°C) for the next few days
but in the meantime, on a non MeB note, i helped get continuwuity, the matrix homeserver i use and Jade co-maintains, packaged for a bunch of distros! for people who use fedora and related distros (including EL10) it is, as of an hour or so ago, in the terra repos!
JadedBlueEyes:
[Jade] This week has also been mostly melting, I think it was like 34-40 degrees some days
However, I got my final project marks back, and it’s just about a first class honours
That’s the highest possible award in the UK
(still waiting for the final overall marks, but I think I’ll get it with a good margin to spare, something like an 85% GPA)
Today has been moving back home, I’ve spent like the entire day unpacking.
But that means I should have much more interesting stuff going on next week!
OAuth Migration
Please read the notes for the full discussion, summary of points:
Plan is to migrate 1 hour before the next meeting (2026-07-06), and skip the meeting.
Lucifer will discuss with monkey and bitmap and try to do the non-disruptive and safer parts already this week, so that we can minimize the downtime that day.
MetaBrainz Weblate is ready for translations and the login/register pages are not fully translated, so feel free to contribute.
Most important translations are Login and register pages, as well as user profile
There will be downtime for all projects.
