[mailed in] [failure] I worked on adding the schema for artist follow tables and event interactions last week. I looked into adding tests (again), with more success this time.
I also had exams the entire week and will continue to have them this week. I should be able to get some work done after Thursday again, before getting hit in the face with my last exam for the summer. Good stuff.

[ApeKattQuest] FINALLY finished the bookbrainz database relationships. so now we can focus on rewriting the docs and gathering examples for each type of relationship
forgot to mention that a week or two ago talked with Lioncat6 about instrument attributes
we can do that again in metabrainz chat (prefer over pm’s tbh)
maybe we can arrange for reosarevok to also be there?
otherwise just super busy with everything

Last week I mostly dealt with a lot of emails and other paperwork, plus updated and merged a few of my MusicBrainz PRs and did some code review
And the usual dealing with reports, areas, etc
Plus I bought some flight and train tickets for summit attendees
(it’s a good time to look into your summit dates and flights / trains, contact me about it - and the ones who need a visa, let’s figure that stuff out since I have never helped with that before!)
Probably more of that for this week, and then the week after we have a few interviews with candidates to replace me as a permanent Executive Director. Let’s see how that goes!
zas is joining me and some board members as a team representative in those as well

[ansh] Last week, I worked on the project Synapse - I performed some pre-deployment cleanup and deployed it to our infrastructure for further testing.
I’ve added adequate documentation in the repo and have added the API Specs here for anyone interested in the project.
And I’ve continued Reviewing PRs for ListenBrainz.
[reosarevok: I understand Synapse is the name for “implement notifications in MeB projects”, for those who haven’t found out : )]

[monkey] Last week I continued working on some infrastrucure improvements for LB
And reviewed OAuth integration in BookBrainz, plus reviewing the new signup pages on MetaBrainz.org with a fine-toothed comb
Also did some reviews in the context of ongoing GSOC projects
Plus emails and other messaging
Also met with zas online to discuss some UX details in Picard 3

Last week I started to review contributions to MB Docker and MB Solr.
Thanks to JDLH and lotooo!
Also had a meeting with zas.

Last week I worked on a few big PRs for Picard, met online with monkey about some UX questions, and with yvanzo irl for good talks and good food
PICARD-3306, PICARD-3309: Refactor file naming scripts and Options menu by zas · Pull Request #3209 · metabrainz/picard · GitHub is the result of a lot of thoughts regarding UX, it was approved by the core Picard team too
I also implemented the support for non-git local plugins → PICARD-3313: Support installing local non-git plugins by zas · Pull Request #3216 · metabrainz/picard · GitHub
And another big one in progress → PICARD-3315: Refactor options with in_profile field and plugin profile support by zas · Pull Request #3219 · metabrainz/picard · GitHub
plus helped Ansh with Synapse deployment questions, I documented service deployment
plus minor admin tasks, sys upgrades, a chat with Hazel regarding new ED recruitment and plenty of minor things.

Last week I made progress on MeB Oauth and made a deployment to test.meb. this week we are testing all projects with the new Oauth.
Also working on a blogpost to detail all the changes, assuming everything goes well we do the production deployment next week
Also worked on separating the databases and dependent services between prod and test lb to have a better and isolated test env.

last week I was mainly still testing & making fixes to the MetaBrainz login / OAuth / digest auth changes for MBS. same is planned for this week
also did some code review and wrote a small script to help deploy some PG config changes for test.lb and synapse

Last week I tried out different ways to store nested fields.
Currently, the best results Im getting is from flattening them out into plain fields.
I will be working on getting the response writer to work with the new fields.

Hello everyone : )
Last week I almost finished the metadata tab for the calibre plugin.

Now it’s working.
And also made the ui resizable ( pls ignore the black spots during horizontal resizing, that’s probably my screen recording issue)
In the upcoming week i plan to open PRs related to the development going on so far, refactor my code, will try adding some features (like coverart) and make some small ui changes like alignment and sizes

Mostly ive been in touch with mr.monkey, we’re working on some fun stuff, although its moving a little slow rn
Just doing some research about the ethics and uses of the new feature that we want to introduce
Lots of talking to people from my lab
Reading this book called “Mood machine”
Then more work on personal research projects

I’ve just got to do some proofreading there

Other than that I just got a confirmation from the matrix foundation peeps for october so I need to actually get stuff booked in now
and I got elected to the matrix foundation governing board!
But yeah, now I really want to sleep haha

last week was mostly some routine patching, though i also had some nice small chats with ansh about the synapse project and observability
i also began to reconfigure my homelab in order to try out some new deployment methods for MeB projects and supporting tools! more info to come on that eventually™️ if successful

Last week I got sick and spent several days mostly in bed. But in the first half I managed to do some Picard code reviews and submit some PRs for refactorings and improving type hints.
Otherwise tried to keep up with zas’ huge PRs : D Mostly all done and reviewed now

This week I’m pretty much done w the foundation for the artist resolver
The release group resolver has some new founds bugs imma smash soon
After which I’ll write a setup guide on the repo ( here github.com/owlpharoah/mb-graghql) if anyone wants to test it locally
