[mailed in] Spent the first half of the week in exams, Second half on getting grilled by my research advisor :').
Weekend was spent cleaning the room, preparing for one more quiz and replying to mails.
Didnt do much for LB. I’m waiting for the maintainers to review my PRs; in the meantime, I will open a few new tickets and start working on them this week.
Shreshth:
[Shreshth Sharma] Hi everyone, been working on Lb-1977 recently, first time working on a gpu rendering bug so its taking a bit, but the PR should be pushed either today or tomorrow : )
Other than work, for some odd reason I’ve started learning origami, so if anyone has any tips regarding that, they’ll be much appreciated : D
kellnerd:
Over the long weekend I mostly finished the Discogs provider for Harmony.
Barcode lookups should now be working as well, now I only have to add lots of test cases to cover all of the odd releases out there,
I also had the pleasure to review not one, but two new provider PRs by Lioncat6 : )
ApeKattQuest_MonkeyPython:
[MonkeyPython] i don’t got anything lol. since i’m afk this week for the most part, I’ll be back in gear tomorrow
(i’m one of those places where This is also a holiday (literally, all the things are closed too and shit))

two weeks ago i pushed BB-670 (async/await refactoring for server-side routes). after that, i looked for the same pattern in frontend and found BB-841. I checked existing PRs and found that someone already worked on it and monkeyDo reviewed it , but the PR was never merged beacuse the fork was deleted , so i went through that PR and monkeyDo’s comments and started to work on those changes and going to open multiple PRs soon .
and also submitted a PR for BB-592.
[BB-670 : Rewrite promises to async/await syntax]
[BB-841 : Refactor Promises in src/client/components/pages to use async/await syntax]
[BB-592 : Alias language change not shown in revisions]
uzman2406:
[Uzma Nayab] I’ve been working on LB-1976 - the options menu layout breaking/wrapping incorrectly in grid view. I’ve completed the fix and submitted the PR.
[LB-1976 : Options menu layout breaks/wraps incorrectly in grid view]
I also identified another issue where playlist metadata gets hidden when the description becomes too long, so I reported it and created LB-1980 ticket
[ LB-1980 : Playlist metadata hidden when description is too long]
Apart from these, I also took a look at the beta toggle button implementation on MusicBrainz so it can be implemented similarly on ListenBrainz.
atharv002:
[Atharv] Last week I completed the work on BB-876 and opened PRs in bookbrainz-site and bookbrainz-data-js with the script dropdown implementation
After merging these PRs, editors will be able to select the script alongside the language in the entity editors
[BB-876 : Script option for languages/titles]
Other than that, I also started working on BB-889 last week, which is about wikipedia extracts not displaying on entity pages. I will open a PR for it this week
[BB-889 : Wikipedia excerpts are not showing]
Lioncat6:
Last week, I’ve been working on two new harmony providers. Both a naver VIBE provider and a qobuz one. Qobuz supports basically the same metadata that spotify does (if not more since they identify labels with accessible IDs), and VIBE has no external IDs at all but was simple enough to add.
Additionally, I’ve completed the new UI for SAMBL’s deep search and just need to finish up the API changes for it to function properly, so a new release should be out within a couple days. The new stuff is up on the dev server for testing though :3
