[ApeKattQuest] so I finished with the belorussian duda (Matstsyanka) but there is still much todo
and otherwise I’m working on the backlog of things that required ID papers
this week I promise to pick up slack and add the missing dudes

Big thanks to yvanzo for dragging me through installing Docker on my Win box
I have test MB running locally as of Saturday! No promises I’ll be leaping into code, but pretty cool, and hopefully we’ll add some details to the docs re. installing on Win
I was still busy with other work, but it’s winding down
Got a few tickets out of my brain, which ended up taking a while
If anyone’s interested
[LB-1509: Genre explorer] [LB-1510: Music Neighbourhood depth/levels/node connections] [MBS-12791: Share edits to social media/other channels]
And I commissioned a lovely artist in my shared space to draw a graphic for a Picard window, which is a bit of a test run to see if there’s appetite for it elsewhere, or more in Picard [PICARD-2843: Illustration for the ‘first run information dialog’]
Did a once-over of little niggly LB website improvements that could be done

last week, i worked on debugging issues that LB prod running out of database connections, still a wip but some progress.
also, worked on fixing some issues spark dumps. organised a workshop to introduce some college students to LB and OSS.

[monkey] Last week I finished working on fixing the BB search indexing issues we’ve had, and deployed that. Fixed !
I then fought the LB test suite and dug deeper into some recurring modal test issues, now I know how to fix simialr tests in the future
I finished working on the new LB homepage
Helped debug an issue preventing login in the LB android app
And reviewed some PRs
That’s about it for the big stuff !

This week I have continued working on my cueshit to support more formats as input or output.
While trying to implement these parsers and formatters, I have probably overengineered my catch-all duration/timestamp formatting function : D
But hey, it’s working and less redundancy = good
Other than that, I did a bunch of MB editing, voting and tagging a few more releases with Picard. Now that I’m using LB there is no more excuse for files without MBIDs : P

[rimskii] So currently Im trying to add a feature to import playlists from spotify (well as you can see from my messages xd). I did the mockup, got my approve from monkey, so now im doing the technical part
for prev week i was trying to test export playlist features to soundcloud and apple music, but well I need to get 100$ for apple dev account and soundcloud dont give their api keys anymore, so im trying to contact them via email
welp thats it, i was also fixing some minor bugs like stripping markdown formatting, fixing music player bar so it goes more smoothy and so on

[geetika] wasn’t that productive a week. but I got this github repo that tracked bpm for sound files
and it worked by spewing out visulaisations, but there is a bunch of interpretation still left
plus, i think our project might do well with a simpler code, so this week will work on that!

Last week it was mostly about coding tools to convert Picard V2 plugins to V3
that’s still early, but phw and I start to actually code stuff related to that, see https://github.com/phw/picard/blob/plugins-v3/P… for more details
apart that, usual supervision, sys upgrades, PR reviews, and MB edits.

last week I worked on some additional caching fixes that I found related to [MBS-13481: Deleted release’s event/label information wrongly remains and cannot be further modified] - [PR #3172]
that was deployed already
I also worked some more on the artwork-indexer to get it ready for deployment…so testing, fixing minor issues, adding more tests, comparing its behavior to the current CAA-indexer, documenting, etc.

Last Friday I released the new version of MusicBrainz Server with the cache improvements that bitmap just mentioned.
The companion MusicBrainz Docker release has a fix for a blocking issue in build.
See Making sure you're not a bot!
As aerozol mentioned earlier, we have had two calls in the week for setting up MB Server (in development mode and without search) on his Windows host.
It was mainly based on my previous call with lucifer, but there are some differences.
So we still have to investigate those for a reliable documentation.
Otherwise I worked on updating MBS dependencies (including [MBS-13489: Update alias locales to Unicode CLDR 44]) and upgrading MB Solr.
Last I did some maintenance on Jira and improved the landing page for visitors: https://tickets.metabrainz.org/

[mayhem] last week I spent a fair amount of time battling our stupid bank. but, we managed to finally book some tickets for lucifer to come to Barcelona!
he’ll be here March 5-8 – and enjoying other places in europe before and after.
I ended up working on troi stuff, trying to get it re-integrated into lb-server.
I also started working on doing artist radio mostly on the backend and that went well.
until I realized I needed to re-factor something else, so that will put me back a day or so.
lets hope this week is a little bit less frustrating. : )

[ansh] Last week, I finished migrating every page to SPA. Also spent some time on refactoring it a bit so that implementing continuous playback on BrainzPlayer would be smoother in the followup PR.
Then I spent some time on reducing the bundle size of JS and reducing the page load time.
I also spent some time on PR reviews.
[/quote]
[quote = “reosarevok”]
Last week I worked on support and community issues
I also did some more reviewing of the MBS Spanish translation
And I worked on a bunch of tickets, including a fair amount of time on [MBS-11063: Convert event edit form to React] (which hopefully is ready now and should be a good start to port most other editors to React).

[quote = “theflash”]
[theflash_] Last week was fun
I worked on cleaning up the model for listens and feed
Fixed up navigation and opened a pr for the same
[/quote]
[quote = “jasjeet”]
[jasje] last week i was tinkering with stuff
that I currently cannot explain
[/quote]
[quote = “snaekboi”]
[Pratha-Fish] Guess what work I did this week
nothing ![]()
I also dived around in the troi bot
will be using it for my final year college project xD
Might as well use it in a research paper
