How Should Metadata for Live Concert Releases Be Corrected?

Hello everyone,

I am working on updating metadata for several live concert releases in MusicBrainz and could use some guidance. I have facing some challenges with properly tagging tracks & ensuring the accuracy of information.

What is the best practice for naming tracks that include audience participation or announcements? Should these be included as separate tracks or incorporated into the main track titles?

How should I handle metadata for releases that include multiple formats CD? Is there a suggested approach for linking these formats within MusicBrainz?

What is included in MusicBrainz & how can these errors be addressed and fixed?? That is my final query.

Also i have read this resorse/artical; https://community.metabrainz.org/t/release-format-medium-format-typographically-correct-punctuation-for-inch-symbolsfmc-developer witch is good still need your advice. if you have any advice please share with me . Any insights or examples you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help…

Usually doesn’t get mentioned. If it is a small percent of the track it isn’t worth noting. If the whole track is audience \ talking then it should be noted.

Not sure what you mean by “multiple format CDs”. Each different CD can get it’s own medium selected if you have CDs and CD-Rs together

Don’t understand your question here. Bootlegs are very acceptable if that is what you mean.

Remember some bootlegs can get reissued in many formats. So do double check the old edit notes as to original sources.

The punctuation thing is good to do, but you won’t get told off if you just use what is on your keyboard. Some editors just love going round correcting that stuff.

Here is a random bootleg example I added last week:

And one with some audience in it as separate tracks:

Official guidelines. Style / Specific types of releases / Live bootlegs - MusicBrainz

Other things to add are keeping bootlegs of the same concert in the same Release Group. But really the best is to look at some examples.
