I entered a release by mistake as a ‘release group’, but cannot find any way to correct this. Is there a way, or should I delete the entry and re-enter it as a release ?
thanks, Martin Klein (Jazzmosax)
Do you mean you created a release in a new release group rather than in the existing release group? If so, you can either edit your release to use the other (previously existing) release group, or you can merge your new release group with the previously existing release group. If merging, please make sure that the target is set as the previously existing group rather than your new one.
See Merging two release groups for more information.
A release is a set of tracks with titles and durations etc., and a release group is a set of releases with (more or less) the same tracks on them. Every release has its release group, they’re created automatically. You can’t add tracks to a release group by accident I think, from what I see your additions look good.
looking at the artist you created, everything looks to be entered correctly (at least to my knowledge). as mentioned above, every release is in a release group, which collects multiple versions of the same album, single, or EP, such as CDs, digital media (streaming services and digital downloads), vinyl, etc. a good example is The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd
When you enter a new release, it automatically creates a new release group. Just click on the release group and you will see the new release you created there.
Thanks for explaining, much appreciated.
That clears things up, thanks very much.
One of my favorite albums, thanks.
Thanks for your reply.
