it’s quite possible I’ve got a different idea of what a work is than the community in general. as a musician myself, when I think of work, I think of the sheet music to reproduce a recording, including all the instrumentation, melodies, harmonies, counter melody, all that jazz (sometimes literally) 
I do agree, swapping out instruments and voices doesn’t make a new work though, that’s just reading the music wrong
