While writing this topic How public domain status can be added? I recognized, that there is at least one more theme about Public Domain status, that is linked to copyright. According to which jurisdiction I should decide, if some work entered to public domain? Should be this decision be made based on status of Metabrainz’s jurisdiction (so it should be PD in California, USA) or jurisdiction of artist? Because it is impossible to enter statuses in all possible jurisdictions manually.
Theoretically, it can be calculated automatically for jurisdictions based on release date/last artist’s date of death that is linked to this work. But in practice, I don’t know, how it can work with MB scheme
