What's the correct way of setting recording dates?

I have been trying to edit some albums which have detailed recording date for every track, which is good but I’m a bit confused on where should I put the date. For example, there are:

  • (track) is recording of (work) on yyyy-mm-dd
  • (track) is recording at (place) on yyyy-mm-dd
  • (track)'s recording engineer/field recordist was (artist) on yyyy-mm-dd

And all instrumental and vocal roles can have a date like

  • (track)'s guitar by (artist) on yyyy-mm-dd

These all seems logically correct but also redundant if I tag date to all of them. What I see as most common is the putting the date on track-work relationship. What’s the best (or standard) practice on this?

It’s okay to have the same date on all of them if it’s the correct date.

All of them make sense. For example, sometimes the vocals get recorded on a different date at a different location. And then the mix happens elsewhere on a third date.

It might look like that if you are looking at it from the release.
But it’s different when you go look at it from each individual artist/work/place entry. The dates are shown there too.
