Sony Music Labels (SML) is a record company… Nine distinctive labels form our business division, including Sony Music Records, SME Records, Ariola Japan, SACRA MUSIC, Epic Records Japan, Epic JYP, Ki/oon Music, Sony Music Associated Records, and Sony Music Japan International

This says Sony Music Labels is not a “label” by virtue of naming nine other things that they do consider to be “labels”.

Digging into the details, we know that the first mentioned “label”, Sony Music Records, is itself not an imprint either. This is the Twitter for Sony Music Records where you can see 8 imprints in their Twitter header, none of which are named “Sony Music Records”. (The 8 imprints from left to right, top to bottom, are Sony Records, gr8! Records, MASTERSIX FOUNDATION, 乃木坂46, Around the World, 欅坂46, 22/7, and 吉本坂46. The point of this background is for me to claim that “Sony Music Labels Inc.” is not the correct “MusicBrainz release label” for either physical or digital releases from this record company.

I felt [yindesu]'s view would be correct.
However, since I do not know the local rule of MusicBrainz, I hesitate the voting act.

So, in Wikipedia, it is recommended to recruit neutral opinions from everyone, but the act of calling everyone to approve of their own edits will inadmonished.
But it may be because Wikipedia’s system reflects edits instantaneously, sometimes conflicting opinions and becoming an intense quarrel.
Prerequisite is different from this place which is approved by voting.

  2. Nogizaka46 and Kenshi Yonezu (米津玄師) belong to “Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc.”. <== This is deeply related to the point that is now on the agenda.
  3. “Sony Music Entertainment” and “Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc.” are different companies.

That is what it is.
