I’ve got a couple of TV themes that were recorded direct from their TV series, mostly from the 70s-90s, and I do not believe they have any official vinyl or cassette releases of the tracks. Some of them I’ve been able to find the composer for, some I’m still searching and not finding any composer. I’m also for many of them unable to confirm for certain who was involved in their original recordings. I would like to put them up in the MusicBrainz database so that there’s some record of them.
I’m guessing this would be best done with a Standalone Recording, but I’m unsure what to do on the artist front. Is Composer acceptable for the Artist entry in this case, and if I can’t find any credits beyond the company that released the tv series and the name of the tv series, what should I put for the Artist?
I’m still sorting through so there’ll likely be more, but right now I’ve got the theme song from a bbc miniseries “The Risk Business” from 1979 which I can’t find a composer for but can find sound credits for each episode, and the theme from a world products miniseries “Ultraviolet” from 1998 where I’ve found the composer.
