Track Length Foul-Up (mine)

Hi all, I put info in for this compilation: Release “Pop Culture Press Vol. 5” by Various Artists - MusicBrainz

… but I messed up the track length for the first 7 tracks (I was looking at the wrong songs at first). I had this CD at one point, but don’t have it to hand anymore (probably lost in the basement). I have the 20 year old mp3s. Anyway, I simply cannot get my track length edits to take. I noticed because I matched it up in Picard right after I submitted the album, and the first few came up yellow. What do I do to fix this? 1-7 should be 3:39, 4:26, 5:03, 3:07, 2:26, 2:34, 3:25. I likewise cannot get it to “add new recording” for these because it’s already associated with (in all cases) the track I already put in with the incorrect length and (in one case) also with the original CD the compilation got the track from (though it has ?:?? tracklength listed): Recording “Jimmy and His Amps” by The Botswanas - MusicBrainz

What do I do? Is there a way to delete the whole thing and start over? Something easier? Thanks!

Your edits are waiting to be voted on. It can take a week until they take effect.

And you should not add new recordings. The duration is inherited from the tracklist and will change automatically.

You might want to cancel both of your edits and start over, editing only the durations and leaving the recordings alone.

ah I forgot there was a wait because there doesn’t seem to be one when I add a new release. Thanks, I took your advice (and this time saw a yellow box which confirmed that this was the right thing to do)!

You get 24 hours after adding a new release to do any change you want to it. Including destructive changes.
