[STYLE-747] Event guidelines

Okay, I just realized that there are guidelines being discussed and some consensus was reached for some issues.

Cool ! I wanted to review quickly my experience because, after adding a dozen Event, I encountered many obstacles many of them are actually corrected there.

Goal : I wanted to document every venue a hip hop duo I like, TripleGo, has been scheduled in. They are famously extremely bad at marketing anything ever, from releases to venues. They are non-mainstream.

  • Labels : Nothing in the Label Page underline that a “Label” is actually a Venue Organizer company. There are many companies, often from influent (online) magazines (like Pitchfork or InRockuptible/SURL/YARD in France) organise venues. The absence of any tags (Creative Agency doesn’t fit the bill ; ok, they create posters/banner/leaflets, but the core of their activity is related to logistics and pricing).
I feel like it is too often the backbone of any Event ; the absence of proper tag for Venue Organising companies feel damaging. It is especially weirder to register a Label when it is a Municipality/City/A Public Entity organizing the Venue. They
  • Time : I used to register an event as “Lasting 2 days” when a concert starts at 19:00/20:00 but finishes at 0:30, 1:00, 2:00, 4:00 or 6:00. I realise now that it might have been a mistake.
  • Duration : The lack of duration obscures so many things and could just correct the Time issue ?
  • Title : I used to just take the Facebook Title but the organiser. It is a mistake. But the issue is ; 90% of the Events I registered do not fit the bill of “[main artist(s)] at [venue]”. Often 3 artists, all main event. Maybe 2 all very well known, 1 less so.
  • Title 2 : Almost all Event I registered have a name, unlinked to the Venue name nor the artists present. TripleGo never did a Concert alone (except Showcase at NightClub).
  • Festival or Concert : I used to choose “Concert” for Event with 2/3/4 artists in one evening (19:00 → 2:00). I discovered that it is seen as a Festival a few days ago. The Documentation says “multiple artists during one day”, I felt like it emcompassed only the “common understanding” of the word “festival” (i.e. not only one evening, understood as an event starting at 14:00~16:00 and ending in the night for one day Festivals). It is a mistake from me and might be a Language issue (if you say Festival in my country = multiple days, starting late in the afternoon at the latest). Should Showcases be a type of venue also ? As Concert-Nightclubs, held often at the end of the night, 2:00 to 4:00. It is so so so common and such a part of many artist life in Europe.
  • Different stages in one club : I need to create two places, now I know !
  • Event Art : From the Facebook Event Domination Era, many Venues for very well known artists do not have a Poster, only a banner. It is possible to show the Banner as it is quite sad to have no illustration for an Event or is it a non-issue ?
  • Event Art 2 : Many Event Art, especially in Festivals, Posters for each artist of the Venue is created (example). Is it interesting to create a Art Type especially for such a common occurence ?

Thank you for you service. I apologize in advance if some of these issues were tackled and not noticed in my review.
