Wondering if this affected anyone else or if I could be pointed towards some troubleshooting steps. Spotify integration seemed to stop tracking my listens since April 10 til April 24 (now). No “currently listening” or recent listens.
Tried disabling and reenabling from Settings > Connect Services > Spotify, no effect.
I removed app authorization in my actual Spotify Account > Apps. Then did the same disable/reenable under Settings > Connect Services (Listenbrainz) which prompted a reauthorization. Accepted, still seems to not work.
Seems to have affected just my Spotify connection, I use pano scrobbler on my phone to catch bandcamp and web scrobbler on my laptop to catch youtube and those both seemed to have worked fine in that date range and continue to work.
I’m currently hoping this sort of silently resolves itself and I can just do an import from last.fm or Spotify history export. I tried a Last.fm import from the missing dates but it just said “0 listens imported” even though when looking at my last.fm there is all the Spotify listens from those dates, but that seems like a separate issue. MusicBrainz and Last.fm are both MatthewG606.
I was also missing some of the updates for some days. I have not been following if it has kept correctly tracking now.
There was an issue with Web Scrobbler that caused metabrainz services to blacklist one’s IP address, which could have caused my issues.
So, if you are getting blacklisted, that could affect it.
Integration started working again, I assume the remove and reenable worked, just took some time. The last fm import also kicked in, so I was able to recover my lost listens. Last.fm is disabled and Spotify enabled, pulling listens as expected. Don’t know what broke the Spotify integration for those dates. Apologies for the bother.
