Spotify as source for composer / lyrics writer

Hi

Am I allowed to use Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music as a source for credit info like composer / lyrics writer?

I do this all the time. It’s not always accurate, particularly with older recordings, but mostly seems to be good data.

Does anyone have a different opinion on this? I really wanna be sure before I’m going to use this info

My thoughts are “better than nothing” but don’t replace data that is already in place. Priority should always go to a written original when available.

Not only Spotify that gets things a bit off. I see errors come in from ISRC and Compilation reissues so try and lean on the earliest single or album I can find when available.
