Hi,
I’m trying to split Johannes Geller from punktmidi.
All their music is credited as punktmidi, so I don’t think it makes sense to have the MB artist be named something else.
I also didn’t want to just delete data about Johannes, so I added a new artist entry to carry over the info
My issue that right now I’m caught in the middle of creating the new artist entry, and with the old artist rename pending, so they both have the same name.
Can someone please take a look and decide if you want to upvote that edit to reduce how long both artists have the same name?
Here’s my edit to rename the existing artist entry: Edit #114881085 - MusicBrainz
New artist entry: Johannes Geller - MusicBrainz
Thanks!

For Johannes Geller, a legal name alias in renamed punktmidi artist is enough, you don’t need that new Johannes Geller artist.
If you remove its only relation to punktmidi, it will be removed automatically after a few days.

Thanks for taking a look, the feedback and adding more external links!
I made an edit to remove the relationship: https://musicbrainz.org/edit/114890215
I also replied in Edit #114881087 - MusicBrainz about the name casing that lowercase is correct AFAICT

Just for posterity on the capitalization, you were right to ask the question @jesus2099 as I emailed Johannes and he got back to me saying he prefers the p capitalized

Hey,
Thank you for doing this.
I prefer „Punktmidi“ with a big P.
Best,
Johannes
Edit #114903885 - MusicBrainz applies that!
