Song covers compilation - Album artist

Hi!

Quick newbie question before I start adding data in the database: in the case of an album compiling songs recorded by different artists all covering the same artist, is the album artist Various Artists, or is it the covered artist?

I’m assuming it’s the former, but just want to be sure!

Usually it’s Various Artists and release group is linked to the original artist with a tribute relationship.

But if you show your example, we can see if it suits well.
