Single or standalone recording?

there’s a series of release by the band The Crüxshadows which someone has collected in this series:

but all of these have been added as singles, rather than as standalone recordings. as i understand the documentation, since these were only released by the artist on their own website and never published on an album or other release (i.e., they’re “Internet-only releases”), these should more properly be entered as standalone recordings.

so:

  • am i right, or have i misread the documentation?
  • if i am right, what is the best way to fix these releases?

I feel like that’s old documentation, and even so, since these tracks have album artwork (on the website, not on MusicBrainz yet) and release dates, they should be entered as singles

I think I did most of the entry on those and came to the same conclusion. They may be internet-only but they’re clearly releases with release properties.

I recently downloaded some free tracks from another artist, some of which are on existing CD releases, but a few are live tracks with minimal info that would probably be considered standalone. It’s just a link and a title with an mp3.
