Hi everyone,
I imported a classical release from Qobuz and entered the tracklist from the digital booklet. Some tracks include performance markings, for example:
Bilder einer Ausstellung: Promenade. Allegro giusto, nel modo russico; senza allegrezza, ma poco sostenuto
Bilder einer Ausstellung: La cabane de Baba Yaga sur des pattes de poule. Allegro con brio, feroce – Andante mosso – Allegro molto
Boléro. Tempo di Bolero moderato assai
I understand these markings are not part of the titles, but I kept them as in the booklet. Are such markings only common for classical works? Should they ever be included in the recording titles? Thanks in advance for any guidance!
Tempo markings are for sure fine on tracklists and recording titles. In many cases, they’re effectively part of the work title even (something like Symphony no. 2: II. Andante) but in these it’s fine to not have them as part of the work title since the work parts themselves have proper titles
In this case, if someone did not add it I wouldn’t think the edit is wrong either, but I don’t think having them is in any way a problem.

This looks fine, but I would personally use a colon to separate them from the movement titles. At least Ravel’s Bolero looks odd to me here. Even though it’s a single movement piece, I would still use the punctuation for movements in that case.

I personally would use a period
But I guess it’s fine either way.
