The above is the introduction on Duetti official website, but I don’t quite understand it. Is it a distribution platform similar to DistroKid?
idk if it should be mergee into [no-label], what’s your thoughts on this?
I can’t tell what sort of label they are, doesn’t quite seem like a distributor tho? idk
either way, if they are a distributor (or similar), it shouldn’t get merged into [no label], since we have plenty of non-imprint labels for relationship purposes, including DistroKid
As far as I can tell they buy the rights to music.
Whether they consider themselves a “label” I don’t know. I suspect that the distinction isn’t important to them, they seem to be interested in buying music and then on-selling via streaming services. But it’s hard to say…
If so, in a practical sense it might make sense to track them both as label and as rights holder in MB, since for all intents and purposes they act as a label (they publish/put out/release/market the music), when it comes to releasing stuff in the digital realm. Which is kind of a grey area for “label” anyway.
