According to the style guide ”a reissue of an album, even if it includes bonus tracks” is not a compilation.
They are quite similar in scope, clearly focusing on their respective original album. The biggest difference is tha one has a more unique title and that it includes the word ”compilation”.
Would you agree with me, merging ”The Ties That Bind” with ”The River”?
I failed to find similar discussion earlier in the forum.
So maybe it should be the other way around, that the Nebraska reissue should be a separate release. I acknowledge that it is very tricky to have guidelines that makes every special case clear. I will not attempt any merge.
Maybe @vzell has some opinions for these specific releases.
The RG was created when the Deezer version was added: Edit #112818495
jannae just moved a bunch of releases from The River to The Ties That Bind. I voted for those moves, because if there are two release groups then they obviously have to have the correct releases in them, but I would also be in favour of merging to a single RG.
The Ties That Bind does seem to me (but vzell is the expert!) to be an expanded version of The River with bonus tracks, almost all of which are previously unreleased. Unlike the Linkin Park example earlier, it is also not a box set combining multiple other release groups. (It is only linked to The River via “contains/contained in”, and as far as I can see there are no missing relationships of this kind.)
