Server Error (HTTP 503) on AcoustID scan/Acoust ID down

I’ve been having an issue recently where Scans are not hitting the acoustid.org site correctly in MusicBrainz Picard. The issue seems to have started when I upgraded to Fedora 30, but I am not positive if that is the problem. But I definitely did not have this issue a month ago or prior.

I am pretty sure this is an issue with my local system since no one else has reported it, and AcoustID seems to be working fine. But I can’t for the life of me figure it out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the application with no success. It is installed from the Fedora repository (v. 2.1.3).

Here’s the issue I am seeing:

  1. Drag in an audio file (in this case I used one that already had an acoustID generated, but I get the same behavior in either case).
  2. Click “Scan”

After this, the following error:

This error repeats 4 times, after 30 second intervals, until it gives up.

However, if I take the metadata and form a valid acoustid.org URL, I get a status message of “OK”, which leads me to believe that the server is, in fact, working.

Any tips on what might be going on here?

…which looks like acoustid.org is working.

I think this is the same problem I started having today. A release that I found by acoustid last night is returning no results in Picard today, with a similar error.

Update: I also can’t submit acoustids.

Yeah, same error here, affecting both scan and submit.

Same problem here. Since yesterday afternoon.

I use some of the scripts like “Inline Stuff” that add the AcoustiIDs to the main MB website pages when I look at them. Last couple of days they have become very unreliable and usually fail to load anything up.

I have been tagging some albums over the last couple of days (not new or obscure albums) and the “scan” facility doesn’t seem to be picking anything up when the “look up” doesn’t find it. Is there a problem at the moment with this?

Since multiple people are affected, should this become a bug report? I’m assuming this is a Picard issue and not an AcoustID issue, but not really sure.

I Have been suffering the same problem. I have just managed to resolve my issue by opening musicbrainz. Click on help tab at the top of the screen. Click on view error/debug log. When the log opens up, in the bottom left corner it says debug mode, this was unchecked so I ticked it, and tracks then began to load again when scanned. Good luck

I’m working on changes in the AcoustID infrastructure. Some versions of Picard are making HTTP requests that were not accepted by the server. It should be fixed now.

Been working fine for over a year, now I can’t submit any AcoustID info, just get that error down on the status line. Any ideas ?

Just did a full update on SuSE Tumbleweed and the problem went away. Had 3 CD’s queued up for AcoustIDs and now they have gone through/updated.

Problem must have been something with a mis-timed or partial update from SuSE & not a Picard issue. Sorry for any trouble.

It’s fixed for me now, too, and I didn’t update anything. I think it was something on the backend that was being worked on.
