The “signed/departed artists” list currently displays everyone together in alphabetical order, which makes it confusing.
My suggestion:
Separate active (currently signed) artists from those who have departed.
If feasible, sort them by the date they were signed.*
It already is.
This isn’t Style, it’s data display.
What you are looking for is something like this. A script that handles a visualisation of that data.

No, I’m looking for artist to be sorted be sign date, same as release groups and releases sorted by the date.
Since artist have date on signing, there is no reason to not use it, currently it’s a mess
