I’m editing this release which has multiple problems I’m trying to tackle. I’ve uploaded all the cover art and am treating it as a “classical” release (pop covers of classical music).
Question 1)
About CD2 - track 14: “Zwanenmeer (Arr.: T. Parker)” is a medley of at least 3 movements from 2 acts of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. Purely by listening to the track I’ve identified and linked 2 of them (edits Edit #150593919 - MusicBrainz & Edit #150593918 - MusicBrainz ).
But so far I haven’t been able to actually find evidence I can link to. Do I cancel these edits, or keep them and add annotation ?
Question 2)
Arrangements. Style / Classical / Works - MusicBrainz guide says:
For an arrangement to be valid as a unique work in MusicBrainz, … There must be at least two different recordings available. The recordings must be of different performances by two different (groups of) performers. You must be able to source that the both performances use the exact same arrangement.
So far I’ve been holding back on adding arrangements like “Zwanenmeer” because I only have this 1 recording, although it has its own ISWC (T-319.124.914-2) and “identity” so a work-work relationship typed arrangement is perfectly possible. Do I add it as work or not ?
Question 3
Track titles: original editor added key / catalogue etc. that aren’t printed on the medium. Since these are available through work-recording relationship, it’s OK to change the titles to just what’s printed on the medium (ref: Style / Classical / Track Title - MusicBrainz ? Or should this release be ultimately treated differently ?
