Questions about inconsistent artist credit

Hi guys, some quick questions,
New MB registree here, I came across an album (Japanese Doujinshi) that had some inconsistent tagging. Same release artist, different releases. Some albums had each track credited to the release group itself with the individuals relegated to relationships, while others had the vocalist as credit. So I’m wondering,

  • Typically, how should artists be credited? Do I copy the CD credits verbatim and attribute each track to the album artist unless mentioned otherwise in said credits?
  • And if I retroactively update the inconsistent release on MB would it mess with all the listeners’s ListenBrainz?

Generally the Doujin group acts as the label, not the artists.
