Question regarding tags and indexed search with advanced query syntax

I tagged the following events with “thursday” and “july” as can be seen here:

Now when I do an indexed search with advanced query syntax for “tag:thursday” I get the expected result

but when searching for “tag:thursday and tag:july” I get the expected ones and lots of others which are NOT tagged with either tag value as can be seen here

Is this expected ??

And another request, is it possible on the users private tag page (Editor “vzell” - Tags - MusicBrainz) to display checkboxes before each tag value

so that you can choose multiple tags and search for it instead of clicking individual tag values ?

Hard to tell without your search links but maybe you just did not write the AND in uppercase?

tag:thursday+AND+tag:july

Oops i was not aware that the logicals must be in uppercase … with uppercase it works like a charm… thx you made my night

I now have another problem:

The following tag URL for “piano” - Tag “piano” - MusicBrainz
gives

and when cklicking on “see only mine - Editor “vzell” - MusicBrainz” I get the expected event

So it is possible to filter tagged entities according to the editor. But how do I get the equivalent output with the “Indexed search with advanced query syntax”, something like

query=tag:piano+AND+editor:vzell&type=event

image

I can see in the documentation that editor is not a supported search field. But would that kind of search be even possible ? At least the filtering seems to work but that’s not powerfull enough …

Another related (minor) problem is that, once you have tagged something, it stays forever tagged, even if you remove your own tags (that were never used by anyone else):

tag:quatre-septembre AND tag:2024 still shows this Love Tattoo (jewel case) from which I have removed all my tags to move them to another edition.

Are you sure? Possibly someone else downvoted it before you were able to remove it?

What I’ve found is that if I add a temporary tag (like an edit reminder for myself) sometimes someone else downvotes it. Then later when I remove my vote, the system still remembers that other users -1, and keeps the tag around. If I just add and remove my own tag it disappears.

This should still be corrected though, if there are only - votes I don’t see why we should keep the tag. Or maybe it is good, or a user could remove and add their own tag again to wipe out - votes…

Ooooh!
I didn’t think of that.
You must be right, exactly.
Thanks for the explanation!
