Question on compilations

Hi

I have a question regarding what counts as compilations. The compilation in question is Release “Volume 2” by The Bouncing Souls - MusicBrainz, which is a collection of acoustic/reworked versions of old songs by the band. Does this count as a compilation or not? I’ve read the documentation on release group types but I’m still not sure.

Good question!

No, that probably doesn’t count as a compilation by MusicBrainz standards. A compilation is already recorded/released audio. If the recordings are new, even if the songs were previously recorded, then it is not a compilation.
