I just finished an edit where I copied Disc 2 from one release into another release in the same RG (a merge that I executed a week or so back). I’m not asking for votes (though they would certainly be welcome, to make sure I did it right), but there is a step in the process that I think could be improved.
In the Add Medium page, I selected the “Existing Medium” tab. The Release and Artist fields were auto-filled with the info from (I presume) the release I was editing.
I clicked “Search,” and was presented with this:
Fortunately, the medium I wanted was there on the first page, but I really had to study it to make sure I had the right one.
Suggestion: Most other places, I could paste the MBID of the entity I want into the Search field, and it automatically resolves to the release. It would be a nice improvement if that could be done in this dialog.
I expect the list would resolve down to the 2 (in this case) mediums for that release, rather than 278 pages of chaff. I don’t know how often this workflow gets used, but I think this improvement would prevent a lot of potential errors.
