Reviews
haris:
[mailed in] Was organising a fest at my college, body hurts like crazy, probably not going to stay up till the meeting. Noticed that the music by decade chart is fixed, thats nice. See you all in the next meeting
ApeKattQuest_MonkeyPython:
[ApeKattQuest] worked on bookbrainz documentation database relationships!
had a very productive meeting with monkey
(I also caught several longcat meowths)
this week i’ll continue that + see if I can start the next miniversion of instruments!
finally I think I’m getting into the groove of things, please ping me if there is any testing to be had!
kellnerd:
Last week I’ve prepared Harmony’s Spotify provider for the upcoming API deprecations.
And while the API is still fully working, I took the opportunity to add a few more release lookup test cases with cached Spotify data.
(will make it easier to spot differences in a month)
Finally, I made the entity ID validation more strict. Some bad actors (or stupid bots) were trying to inject full URLs (and other crafted strings) instead of proper entity IDs into Release Lookup URLs.
While this causes no harm for the Harmony web app, it triggers pointless API requests.
m.amanullah7:
last week I was working on funkwhale integrational and functional test and now its successfully merged [LB pull 3538 ] thanks to monkey for refactoring my codes! xd and also i’m done with navidrome test and created a pr and waiting for monkey to merge [LB pull 3582 ]
and last was exploring lil about tidal music (LB-1804: Implement Tidal Music as a music source and playlist import/export ) and thinking of working on it if it aligns with my schedule, will soon discuss about this with monkey!
Thanks that’s it from my side!
julian45:
did some patching across some servers i take care of
also rapidly updated authentik (SSO) in response to security fixes, and onboarded ansh to authentik this morning as well
besides that, maintaining the github action we use for DNS management, plus usual MB edits
nirvan73:
[Nirvan Jain] this week was a little busy, went through some lab exams and worked a bit on the bug pointed out by jasje. I’m a bit confused about the source of the problem, but yeah, I’ll figure it out soon
JadedBlueEyes:
[Jade (she/her)] This week, discord exploded [aerozol note: the continuwuity Discord, not the MetaBrainz Discord]
Unfortunately that was pretty much the last straw for overloading me, so I’ve been spending since friday figuring out how to get things off of my plate so I can actually focus on the music player / final year project and my remaining module
(our community rooms basically doubled in members and trippled in activity, a lot of it being support requests)
I mean it was half a good thing, new contributors, deployed instances grew by at least 50% in a week
but just way more work than I had capacity for
other than that, not much to report
Lioncat6:
Last week I finished up SAMBL’s TS refactor and pushed a couple updates fixing bugs (mostly ones caused by the TS refactor). I’ve been looking into possible workarounds for the new Spotify restrictions and had to deal with some issues with the Tidal api that prevents fetching entire albums. Additionally, I’ve dockerized SAMBL to help make updates easier.
Discord bridges
Not much input on this topic, but @chaban points out that ‘spaces’ can be added to ‘spaces’ . Nobody seems to have an issue with this and @aerozol will look into it.
After the meeting some concerns were expressed re. too many rooms potentially leading to ‘dead’ chats and that mb-general should be prioritised. Nobody outright objects to testing adding more bridges.
absent: nobody!
