[mailed in] [mayhem] I’m still suffering from the side effects of the heavy antibiotics, so I’ll skip this meeting.
Last week lucifer and I planned out the LB server build out and started executing on that. We also got replication for the new mapper working.
Also ran the board meeting on Tuesday and generally tried to keep up with business emails.

[FaizanAkhtar] Last week i explored Bookbrainz , worked on an issue , and opened a PR.. I also spent time understanding the codebase and am currently writing a proposal on setting up BookBrainz for internationalization

[monkey] Last week was more PR reviews, checking socials, doing some outreach, helping users, etc. as per the last couple of months
With lucifer in BCN we talked about a new stats system and stats on demand, made a general plan for the type of features we want out of it and how to implement it
Also hung out, good food and even some climbing!
Had a team meeting with the LB team
Discussing our roadmap for the year
And worked on adding a graph of users over time in the LB status page, and get rid of the stupid monkey selfie that’s been there since forever.
User growth curve looks like a hecky stick, matching what aerozol and I have been thinking WRT to more people mentioning LB online
And did a small PR to update Postgres in LB dev
Some ticket cleanup, and that’s most of the week.

According to my notes this week I did nothing worth separately writing down
Mainly socials and community stuff. I know I did some mockups and things but as mum use to say “if you can’t remember it, it can’t have been that important”
Which I feel is wrong as heck, but whatever haha

Last week I worked on Perl updates for the next MB database schema change release in May.
Also I reviewed as much as possible of the external links editor refactor in progress.

last week I mostly spent time on MB code review, playing whac-a-mole with MB server alerts, and updating my external links editor improvements PR based on review feedback
(MB traffic issues were finally improved by zas adding more bot-detector rules)
also worked on a patch to fix some broken legacy javascript bundles for people with older browsers, hope to submit that today
and was retesting some artist credit editor improvements I had made to reosarevok’s React recording form branch a while ago

This week, I’ve been working on SAMBL’s new url Querying system, so apple music now matches URLs propery! Additionally, I’ve been considering adding a provider for naver vibe, considering it has a completely open API and would be farely trivial to implement. Other than that the entire of SAMBL’s front end is now properly typed, and working on implementing kepstin’s ISRC importer.
Not SAMBL related: I’ve finally begun work on my MBz bot library, though that’s going rather slow, and I’ve also begun work on another smaller project that may or may not see the light of day.
I’ve also been working on a system for importing albums from websites that do not have artist URLS (“Mini Providers” if you will) for sites like Very Ok Vinyl, that will be based only on category searching.

Same as the week before basically. Looking into Picard reports, testing and doing bug fixes.
zas and are planning to do another alpha release tomorrow with all the fixes and smal improvements we and rdswift did

[Jade (she/her)] Not much progress to report this week, it was 50% spent recovering from FOSDEM and I’m still exhausted
I’d forgotten that I was going to Wales on a climbing trip on the weekend, but that went relatively well aside from the weather meaning we couldn’t climb
(it was pouring)
But I’m going to be writing code from tomorrow morning and hoping my other assignments don’t jump out on me
Oh and people continue to do work behind my back so Continuwuity 0.5.4 got released, which is cool :3

Last week, I set up a new server (lips)
I did some research regarding a recurring SSL issue (connection closed), made some changes to openresty that seem to improve the situation
though the core problem is yet to be identified
I also reviewed a nice number of Picard PRs (mainly fixes after alpha1 releases)
And, as outsidecontext said, we prepare another release for tomorrow
plus usual user support, admin tasks, etc.

last week, i was at the BCN office and had lots of productive discussions with mayhem and monkey about LB infrastructure, roadmap, another stats revamp and new stats on demand.

Last week I’ve refactored Harmony’s Tidal provider to handle more (hopefully all) cases where their API references resources that it doesn’t include (and which seem to be soft-deleted?).
Plus a few Harmony discussions on GH and Discourse.
Most annoyingly about Spotify (further) enshittifying their API to a point where it is barely useful.

[ansh] Last week, I mainly worked on the upcoming genre page on ListenBrainz.
And had a good discussion with the LB Team regarding the Roadmap for this year
And continued reviewing PRs.

[Nirvan Jain] this week was quite interesting, as I took part in a 12 hour intra-college hackathon and had a great experience. I also completed the requested changes for the search functionality extension PR and spent time exploring new navigation libraries, specifically Voyager, to wrap up my work for the week.

[anuj_] This week I made the changes jasje: told me to do, went through the KMP documentation, and picked up the issue to migrate from Jsoup to Ksoup

[MonkeyPython] heh things did not go as planned this week.
sleeping schedulefail and also other things, I need a little break after my failcation, trying to jump right into things has not Gone Well
but I’ve just now organised a Wednesday meeting with monkey , so then well battleplan about bookbrainz things!
and things seem to be going better this week!! let’s hope I’m more ontop of things this week!

[mailed in] I have been away from my laptop the entire week. I head Logistics at the annual fest of my college. Its gearing up to be the best one this decade. I am constantly in and out of meetings to the point its affecting my health now. But the fest is on this weekend! I invite everyone here to come to Felicity at IIIT-H (Hyderabad, India). Its incredibly exhausting and fun organising the fest.(Yeah i couldnt get much time to go through LB stuff, but I will, definitely)

I finished updating Style / Aliases - MusicBrainz with some extra suggestions and some more (basic) info about release groups and releases
We had a board meeting, so I attended it and dealt with the minutes for that
I removed a bunch of spammers and added some areas and banned a bunch of ban evaders (several times each)
But mostly I was looking though bitmap’s external links rewrite code, halfway done or so… that’s a big PR, but once it’s in it will be significantly less spaghettish and we can upgrade to React 19, so : )
