[mailed in] implemented frontend completely for the listens importer. It’s functional now and working fine. Waiting for review from monkey and lucifer
Improved some backend endpoints as well in order for frontend to work. The Spotify importer is complete now.
Highlighted some improvements to lucifer and have to work on them. Then Spotify importer should be completed after a few improvements and completing tests.

[fettuccinae] I spent time understand how oauth requests were made in ListenBrainz and Worked on integrating /notification/send endpoint in ListenBrainz.

[mayhem] Not much beyond the bare necessities last week, I’ve been feeling rather poor last week, but things are improving now.
I did the usual MeB mails, PR review and some minor LB local work, not much else. This week is looking a lot better!

Kia ora! Had a lovely holiday in Rarotonga and managed to barely look at a screen the whole time
I read the book ‘The Beach’ on the beach which was very fun until it wasn’t (good book)
Got a bit sick upon my return but not sick enough to not work, sadly/happily? Spent a while catching up on MeB socials and forums etc. Turns out that all piles up quite quickly.
Apart from that I’ve been plugging away at changes to the MB home page design whenever I get the chance. Thanks to everyone who gave feedback. I want to do it right so it might take a bit longer yet - thanks for your patience ansh !

[monkey] Last week was a short one for me, I worked with ansh on improving BrainzPlayer, and together we investigated issues with a new state library that has drastically improved the readability of the code.
We had a video call to look into it in detail together and I prepared a short document for further logic improvements.
I continued reviewing the front-end parts of the ongoing GSOC projects, as well as other PRs in progress.
Finally, spent some time replicating some small bugs and triaging issues.

Last week I spent some time reviewing my stalled paste-a-date implementation, hopefully advance soon
I worked on a bunch of different URL-related tickets and the like
Fixed a crash when people have their name changed and try to log in with a remember me cookie still set, which had been hit 37 times apparently but reported zero times
People confuse me sometimes : )
And fixed the code that checks whether recording merges are ambiguous to clarify that merging the same recording into the same destination recording n times still doesn’t cause any ambiguity

[mamanullah7] last week i’ve worked on test almost completed having some issue which will be resolving once lucifer is available!
and also refactored backend tried to simplify and removed some unnecessary edge cases!

Last week I investigated two issues with MB mirrors and reviewed an MBS PR.

last week I mostly worked on some issues preserving form state when errors occur in the new external links editor code, did a bit of code review, and looked into MBS-6567

I got a current list of darkened items from the IA and marked those as such in the database, but we don’t have a good way to sync them yet (and it will be more annoying now that they removed the metamgr)

Wrote the frontend test scripts and spark test scripts for two of my PRs
Hoping to get them merged this week
Waiting for reviews on the same from ansh and lucifer

[ansh] Last week, I majorly worked on BrainzPlayer Refactoring - and had a bug bash session with monkey for that.
I also went over holycow23 ’s PRs for GSoC.

I also got some basic pagination working

(a bit slow because the database is on the other side of an ocean, but )
Unfortunately a regression in the avatars/etc because I can no longer just pull them from the SDK, but I’ll be able to fix that soon
I also fixed a few small bugs
The last part of the week was spent moving all my stuff into my new place for next year
(the itnernet stuff arived just now)
But I’ll be back at it from Tuesday evening
[later] Oh forgot to mention I updated some of the tracking issues before the meeting, you can follow along with all that stuff in the libretto room - it has github notifications set up for the repo that would be a bit noisy here

@suvid Regarding the upcoming Spotify importer, does it handle duplication checks for existing listening history since I also have Last.fm Spotify integration + sync enabled on my side.

The importer uses the existing listens submitting mechanism under the hood. So if the timestamp and song name are similar, I believe it should not submit duplicate listens. I tested it a bit and tried to submit same listens twice but it didn’t create any duplicates in the listening history on Listenbrainz. So I think it should be fine

Thanks for testing @suvid! @ajhalili2006, I would note to still proceed with some caution.

Last.fm sometimes does things differently (for instance it’s not always agreed on when to consider a track play time - start vs end vs X amount through etc) which leads to mismatches that sometimes aren’t picked up by the de-duplicator.

suvids testing implies that everyone interprets the Spotify data the same way, at least, but I would keep a close eye out for dupes in case something changes or hits the fan.
