But the good news is that all that traveling and being busy is over now. Will have more time again till end of year

[ansh] Last week, I focused on implementing caching for cover arts in LB using IndexedDB.
Additionally, I am currently working on integrating user flairs throughout the website.
And, I have also made improvements to the Brainzplayer Track Searches.

[monkey] Last week I helped mayhem with a funding application [link]
Fixed a bug and made a small improvement to the artist pages on LB
Helped lucifer with a UI for the new LastFM importer
Worked on flairs (CSS effects)
And made a proof of concept for embedable HTML widgets [link]
Fixed the test API which was down, looked into finalizing it
And a bunch of reviewing PRs, ticket triage, etc.

Last half week, I mostly worked on moving services from 3 other old servers (hip, paco, and trille) to another new 1 (yamaoka) set up by zas.
Also fixed our Exim deployment, updated backup source locations, and did some other maintenance tasks…

last week I had a lot of emails to handle after sending out invoices and the like.
once that finally died down, I got down to creating the funding.json file, which I think is a really great concept, so I wanted to support it.
and, I finally picked up working on Troi and LB Local, since I’m in dire need of new insights of my own music collection.
chatted a bit with monkey about this and I need to do it right, which means more work and creating user accounts and all that.
but, I got playback to work in the web page,using howler.js – the streaming and playback part are super easy, all I had to do was the UI. Good fun.
today we had our first LB team meeting on Zoom, to try and be a bit more coordinated, at least once a month.
good start, maybe next month we’ll have everyone there.

last week, i worked on fixing some bugs in the last.fm importer discovered after the initial release.
other than that, i worked on finalizing oauth stuff and upgrading a couple of dependencies in lb. that’s it for me.

Last week, I set up another new server, and retired one over the three it replaces
I spent some time optimizing the weights, tuning alerts, and other minor things accordingly
Plus usual bug triage, system upgrades and minor admin tasks. I was traveling end of the week.

last week I spent time moving our tests to github actions. that was prompted by our selenium tests starting to persistently fail again, and looking for a more stable environment for them. hoping to get all of our tests passing again early this week
the plan is to eventually move all of MB’s jobs to GHA so we can retire jenkins and also move away from circleci, having everything in one place
I also continued working on the edit classes for alternative tracklists (before I got sidetracked by the above), submitted some gateway configs for the funding.json stuff, and did code review

The biggest things I worked on this week have been MBS-13804, MBS-13801, MBS-13564, MBS-13781 and MBS-9885

[MBS-13564: ISE trying to change locale of primary alias if one exists with new locale]

Not necessarily in this order
Plus updating some dependencies and whatnot
And of course, the usual community and support : )

Last week I spent some time doing a bit of housekeeping on some of the Ansible roles - mainly lint fixes and adding new versions of Ansible and Ubuntu to the test matrices.
Also looked at fixing some deprecation warnings in our Ansible playbook.

Last week I finished the website bits of the BB importer project (for now).
Pending entities of all types can now be viewed, approved and discarded via the regular entity display pages (which only show different actions in the footer for them).
And the best: They can also be edited just like regular entities, only on submission they get approved behind the scenes (initial revision), all changes by the user are stored as a separate revision already
With all of this working, I could finally delete a whole bunch of now unused code and open a triple of PRs today.
I’ve also filled out Google’s final submission form since the deadline is today.
It includes a link to the (yet empty) blog post that I still have to finish writing, I’ve mostly collected and written notes so far

Since we published the blog post I’ve finally moved on to other things. I have quite a lot of ‘DO ASAP’ things from the summit… whoever nudges me about their stuff will get it done first, so feel free.
Currently I’m working on a draft of an updated ListenBrainz homepage to show mayhem and monkey soon (hopefully)
