[mailed in] Last week I did the usual and…
Added LLM guidelines to the CB about page (thanks for the help yvanzo)
Made monochrome (single colour) logos for all our projects [MEB-148: monochrome logos]
Made a MeB youtube how-to re. using Jira
Made a VGM playlist and graphic for the LB socials (for video game day on the 12th)
Mockup up and discussed the great new LB app settings page that akshaaatt turned around pretty much immediately <3
Finalised some new Picard icons with outsidecontext [PICARD-1377: Improve icons in new plugin UI]
Heads up, I’ll be around this but I need to put my head down and try power through and finish another job I have on, probably all of this week and next. Don’t be scared to ping me a bunch if you need something!

[ApeKattQuest] Finishing up updating shawm like instrument updates
I went to a performance of Moulin Rouge Saturday! it was alright : D
this week seems annoyingly to be having better weather than the entire summer, but I’ll be adding some Instruments and continuing on fixing instrument aliases since MBS-13102 [Update alias locales to Unicode CLDR 43]
nd I’m also going to STOP procrastinating and test bookbrainz things!:leo:
feel bad for ShivamAwasthi on this

[Pratha-Fish] Last week was quite an exploration!
I went through the repository suggested by reosarevok to experiment with some area area fetching functionality of the bot : D
I also had an exam this Sunday, so had to take a couple of days off for studies :smiling_face_with_tear:
Also had a short encounter with some PR comments on my open PRs
Hoping to get it resolved soon

Last week I came back from Spain, where my brother got married and it was fun and stuff
Then he went to Africa to see elephants and shit, and I came home to… catch COVID, apparently
Life is fair!
Anyway, #livinglikeits2020 so I haven’t been too active while recovering : )
I’m doing a lot better now (it was mostly just fever and a cold, really) so I’ll probably be more active from now on
(still a couple days of quarantine left tho)
I did manage to keep up with user reports in the meantime though, so there’s that : )
(and support)

I’m back from walkabout, thanks for the warm welcome from everyone so far
I had a lovely time, both in NZ (and I met aerozol again!), and a bit back here in spain too
it’s great to see all of the amazing work by everyone while I’ve been not here. well done everyone!
I went to officebrainz today, and caught up with both mayhem and monkey, and started to have a bit of a discussion to see where I can fit in with things. I’ll be trying to catch up on everything in the next few days and make a plan to work out what’s next

[monkey] Last week I continued battling the LB test suite, and I am delighted to say I finally emerged victorious today and merged that damn PR :tada:
I also continued work on the LB stats art generator, and fixed some small bugs here and there
I also continued working on the summit t-shirt
And some GSOC stuff : )

Last week I released an update of CritiqueBrainz with new guidelines by aerozol.
Also released an update of MusicBrainz Server/Docker and a build fix to MB Docker.
As Node.js 16 is EOL next week we figured out a plan to use Node.js 18 at first, and to move to Node.js 20 two months later: [blog post]
Note that it only affects MusicBrainz mirror websites installed without MB Docker (Compose).
Otherwise I kept improving Weblate and the new community forum’s cross-project category about i18n/l10n/translation: [forum category]
Finally completed MBBE-79: Update J-Lyric.net URLs to use HTTPS
Note that some MB bot editing tasks are currently available for volunteers: [link to tickets]
Plus usual support and tickets triage.

last week I primarily worked on MBS-13260 [Upgrade Node.js to v18] and MBS-8952 [Pasting some recording URL rename recordings] and did some code review
but yeah, as yvanzo said, we plan to require Node.js v20 for MBS, once v20 hits LTS

Last week I finally took up TypeScript migration of bb-data again and finished the first pass, our whole ORM has now been converted.
The next pass would involve heavier changes of the way our Bookshelf models are defined, so it’s unlikely that I’m not gonna do that during GSoC.
After that I finally got rid of old and unused files in the importer project repo and fixed a weird bug which I could only reproduce once (which at least confirmed that my fix works).
Theoretically both sets of changes are merge-worthy, but since they depend on each other and I’m still not done with moving code around between the BB repos, I’d prefer not having to do a major npm version bump every time I do another breaking change.
So I will continue with refactoring/deduplicating code this week and discuss the way forward re merging with monkey.

I’ve just been happy about the progress the LB app has made.
I couldn’t have asked for anything more. It has been a brilliant team effort.
Thanks to everyone involved in the process. jasje, aerozol, monkey, mayhem have been amazing at pointing things out and helping us create an app which feels premium now. The codebase is also really good.
It took us a lot to get here. Hopefully, we’ll have something worth creating a big buzz about by the end of this year.

[mayhem] last week I was on vacation, hiking near loads of waterfalls, close to the french border.
but I sucked being on vacation…
my brain kept thinking about various work data problems and that I needed a tag similarity dataset.
so, I hacked one together: [tag similarity dataset]
tomorrow I will start integrating that into LB radio.
and then today I dabbled a tiny bit in a project that will have a “red light” when someone on IRC raises their hand.
working on it tonight, see if I can get nearly finished. should be fun and much better to integrate online participant.s
what kind of pants?
partici-pants!

Last week was mostly about getting Picard French translations up-to-date after weblate move
I handled few user reports related to 2.9.1 release, and made a small patch to help debugging SSL errors it seems many people have on Windows
apart that, I did usual maintenance, upgrades & supervision. I’m still tracking that pesky issue with keydb on gateways, it happens sometimes.

[arsh] I was just preparing myself for my uni again so couldn’t do too much for project
But will be sticking around and working on tickets
And see where my skills can be useful
[/quote]

[quote = “atj”]
so… nothing to report again unfortunately - still stuck on a work project full time which is leaving me with no free time
I’m trying to keep an eye on IRC in case anything urgent is needed, but it’s been fairly quietly recently.
Things should be calming here down by the end of the month…
