Quiet week for me mostly.
Fixed LB-194 and LB-191
Spent a bunch of time looking at the beta listen count in anticipation
Rest of the week consisted of acclimatizing to college again.

last week was a hodge podge of things.
LB PRs and updating the beta. fixing LB docs, tweeting about LB.
and preparing my slides for my keynote on saturday.
they slides came out well and thanks to all of you who helped spot typos and other issues.
the talk went well and the requisite hair cut to go with the talk was muchly retweeted.
the KDE group is a nice bunch of folks, who all knew or had used MusicBrainz.
in comparing how the two orgs work, we’re both very different.
a lot of people came up to me to thank me for our ongoing efforts.
praise upon praised was heaped upon doing the right thing from the get go.
so, please, everyone pat yourself on the back for kicking ass and doing what you do. people appreciate it, even if this group of people can only ever find more flaws and problems with our projects.
and we should be grateful that it is this way and not the other way around.
sadly, I was fighting a cold all week and my body was kind enough to let me get on with they keynote.
but later that evening I tipped over like a slashdotted server.
I spent half of the second day at the hospital getting some antibiotics sorted.
back home, on the mend, but I could’ve done without the getting sick part.

Pretty slow week for me as well. I’ve been trying to keep up with IRC and forums, and poked ever so slightly at some reported users.

This week, I did a major revamp of WS code (again ) and refactored it and introduced retries for requests and support for advanced rate limiting
a lot of it was based on gh:P#473 I believe
apart from that, fixed a couple fo small bugs in the ws code after the migration to json
and spent a couple of days in hospital fighting vertigo
back in college with better internet
and gsoc evaluations done

I dove back into more industry reading, as well as reading up on W3 and semantic web info.
I also finalized some more accounting stuff.
I chatted with a few more new user sign ups, although most last week were stealth start ups, and so not public quite yet.
I got back into the data visualization work–learning D3js.
I made a pretty stupid move of not configuring git correctly and lost 68 files–so that was a bit of a ‘facepalm-self’ moment last week…

I’ve fixed that now…and this is as far as I’ve gotten into learning d3, so still a ways to go.

just wanted to say that I wrote a topic on the forum about dataviz
following what was discussed with Quesito and ruaok in April
so I hope it’s going to help motivate people work on dataviz
and I try to come to the September meeting to talk about it and work with Quesito

Well, i fixed yehudi server
and reported the issue to hetzner (it is related to new amd cpus / bios)
then i mainly reviewed samj1912’s amazing PRs
i upgraded all servers, upgraded grafana
atm, all is working … i guess something will break next week, when i’ll be in semi holidays
i also experimented internet access at 2 kb/s … thanks to mom’s dsl line, i was back to 1997 or smt…

I fixed MBS-9409 to deal with an edit modbot has been complaining about for a while
then was fighting our tests, mostly
proposed some changes to stop validating our markup as XHTML
and worked on fixing these randomly-failing UI tests by moving them to a headless chrome setup
but that still needs work
the xhtml was needed for rdfa pages, but that’s been gone for a while
we also use xpath in tests, but I found an HTML5 parser that can make XML::LibXML docs

During the last week I got search results components done (well seems I forgot instruments) and started to focus on writing input components for search conditions. This week mostly with these topics and I would also like to improve error handling of fetching function which fetches data from the search server.

This week was productive :). back in college and finally completed updating my PR to reduce database queries made for fetching the information of release groups (by counting queries as alastairp suggested (thanks)) and added a tag helper for fetching tags related to entities.
Also sent a PR for reducing the number of queries for place and a separate one for setting up a test database using the docker image. Added data for testing covering some test cases.
Finished work for using database access for entity type: release too.

I done a bunch of reviewing for CB, merged and deployed gsoc stuff
started doing some upgrading for forgotten JS code and dependencies
updated some parts of the docs for devs
not expecting to get much done next week, busy moving
