Neutral sample recording-recording relationship?

I’ve been adding sample relationships when I find them (i.e. ARTIFICIAL SUICIDE is sampled by TERMS & CONDITIONS), but what about when it’s not clear which song is sampling which?

An example is Neotheater by AJR, where every song samples another in some way. The most obvious is the “Cause everything is going great” line in Birthday Party and Break My Face. The songs are from the same album, and it’s not clear which one samples which.

Is there a way to mark that the songs sample each other in a neutral way? Or is it best to leave these unmarked?

If it’s sampled across the same album, I would leave it up to the listener. The “samples” relationship is more important when the recording used comes from a different album or artist.

In general, if you don’t really know, leave it blank/leave it. Write down suspected facts in an annotation.
