Need help with linking submitted data

Hi Community,
I did some recordings of Internet radio stations. So this mp3s have no ID3-data.
So I use Picard to identify and tag them.
Some tracks could not be identified by picard, what is ok so far.
Even there are no musicbrainz recordings, some of these tracks show an acoustID track-ID. When I right-click on that acoustID, to lookup in browser, I see the acoustID and “This track has 1 fingerprint(s) and is linked to 0 MusicBrainz recording(s).”.
So I analysed that track with shazam and got a result that could be veryfied on youtube.
I tagged that file manually and searched in MB, if there is really no entry for that track. So I submitted it as standalone recording to MB.
I could set its relationships to the performer and the work (it’s a cover of an existing work). Then I found out, as well I kept the acoustID tag inside the submission, there was no linking to the AcoustID an in AcoustID still no link to the MB recording.
So I searched the wikis for information, how to set the relationships between MB and AcoustID but couldn’t find any help.
How can I connect the AcoustID to the MB recording?
Kind regards

OK the problem we have here is that AcoustID/fingerprints are a method of evidencing a particular version of a recording. For that reason we try to ensure that fingerprints that are linked to recording entities in MusicBrainz are genuine - for example we really like fingerprints that are created from music files that originate from CD’s or official downloads.

What we don’t really like are fingerprints that are created from music files that people have recorded from sources that are suspect to variation such as recordings from broadcasts (radio, television etc.) or recordings from analog mediums (vinyl record, tape).

The reason for this is that the AcoustID database doesn’t currently offer anyway of commenting or annotating your submission; so to the next editor who reviews your fingerprint they can become confused as to where this seemingly unique fingerprint originated from - possibly leading to that fingerprint link being removed (disabled) entirely.

Although I appreciate the sentiment, I believe we would not want you to link your fingerprints to existing entries in the musicbrainz database for the above reasons; in short it diminishes the quality of the data we are trying to provide.

Until there is a method in which we can provide source information for a fingerprint (via a method such as commenting or annotation) then we really need all participants of the project to rally together and ensure the data they are wanting to contribute to the project is as accurate as it can be.

It took a while for me to come round to this but please understand that AcoustID is not equal to Shazam.

As for your current problem it’s going to be a long uphill battle as you’ll have to use the Lookup function on each track and match it to what you feel is best; but as I’ve hopefully made clear please do not submit your fingerprints to those tracks.

Well, I understand, what you want to tell me.
The source is playing complete tracks with no speach in between.
That’s the reason, why more than 95% of those tracks are found by picard.
The fingerprint was already existing in AcoustID but with no user data or link to musicbrainz. It’s not my intension to fill the database with rubbish. I only want to help other users to identify that track if they find it anywhere.
At least your answer was not what I wanted to read :frowning:

It’s only forum, but I like it.

This video is quite long, so you might want to view it on YouTube (rather than the embedded version here) and use the shortcuts/contents in the video description to jump to the parts you want to view.

But it is comprehensive and should have what you’re looking for, if you don’t mind learning from video:
