Musical theater and cast disambiguation comments

I entered this and the related edits based on the style guide for musical theatre, but it doesn’t seem like a particularly useful edit.

Why not include a recording comment? As I mentioned on that edit, what if a recording appears on both a compilation and a specific cast album? That could easily be the case for popular productions and recordings.

It doesn’t really make sense to me either, to base the recording comment on what types of releases they are contained within - as you mention, that can be multiple releases and change over time.

Maybe there’s a good reason why though, that we’re not thinking of. Do you know of anything @reosarevok?

I did some digging and this is where it seems that the change happened: STYLE-1012012 guideline revision

But I can’t find the style discussion or a mention of disambiguation.

When looking at all recordings of the same work, it looks like this comment is useful.
Especially as the recording artist is unknown.

I honestly can’t find a single good reason why removing this is better and I’m more than happy to amend that guideline unless someone can come up with something.
