Yeah, that sounds like it. I assumed there would already be a ticket. I just never had time to look closer. For me it is on Vivaldi on Win10. Anytime I create an new artist in the middle of editing a release I always have to pop-open a window straight after to paste in the URL of the artist.
And then after closing that window have to click different links to add the annotation. (See the cunning trick of bringing back on thread ). It means when adding a new artist in the middle of editing a release a LOT of extra clicks and tabs are needed to fill in basic data I have just researched which I should have been able to just add to the open âNew Artistâ page in one edit.
When I see it happen it usually puts the title âExternal Linksâ on screen to tease⌠just no edit box. I had been blaming scripts just never had time to experiment.
NEVER happens when going from the main menu at the top of the screen. Always in the middle of editing a Release Relationships.
I talked to @Bitmap about it a while ago but he wasnât able to nail it down. If you can add anything to the ticket with more information that would be very useful! Maybe we can get it revisited. Rather than go off topic and recap whatâs already in the ticket comments, have a look there (doesnât look like itâs scripts).
Your comment in the ticket about it being caused by âMax Image URLâ is something I can reproduce. I have a dozen scripts on that page, disable that one and I get my External URL edit box back. Enable it and it goes away.

I think scripts contribute to the problem, but based off @chaban and @deratâs comments it seems clear that itâs not entirely that. My (very!) laypersons view is that it might be related to page load time/whatever, that when it takes too long it drops that field, and that scripts can make the page load increase, making the issue pop more reliably.
If a few people can tune in with the same problem maybe we can escalate the priority⌠Iâve never really gotten used to having to re-open that edit panel a second time

This is also what I used to think. But I am sitting on a stupid fast PC on City broadband. So the resources are there. No other pages seem to fail in the same way.
I wonder if the Image Max URL is a more complex script and therefore causing the timeout you are thinking of?
