Hello, making another topic somewhat related to Conclusion of multiple digital media releases for 16 vs. 24-bit? - #13 by derat
After reading Style / Release - MusicBrainz and the big mess of edits trying to figure this out I’m stumped, in this scenario I was convinced after reading Bonus Tracks in Bandcamp releases - #3 by IvanDobsky that they ( Release “Avalon Quest” by Isidor - MusicBrainz (Bandcamp) & Release “Avalon Quest” by Isidor - MusicBrainz (Streaming) should simply be merged into Release “Avalon Quest” by Isidor - MusicBrainz (no disamb), with an annotation for the extra 3 tracks offered on Bandcamp – so adding the last 3 tracks into the 9 track release and merging both of them.
I ended up deciding against the merge after taking a quick look at the acoustId tag and simply deciding the 3 “remastered” tracks were different enough as well as referencing from Release group “UNDERTALE: Soundtrack” by Toby Fox - MusicBrainz for this decision (keeping the releases separate with disamb and annotation), but today I decided to compare them visually instead of textually, adding an offset of -2 almost makes no noise and since they are just higher bit-depth/sample rate they do not sound different at all, the only difference is duration, but only on track 10, despite it being the same as track 1.
That’s all the details I have, any advice is appreciated.
Same nine recordings with a bit of remastering and what sounds like a slight shift of the gap at the start is the same recording. If the AcoustIDs line up with a -2 shift on the compare then that is the same. Little bit of silence is ignore as your ear will hear the same.
I like to stick two tracks into Audacity to compare that way. Makes it clearer.
But to your main question I feel that this is two different releases. If on some streaming sites you get 9 tracks, and other sites you get 12, then that sounds to me like two different releases.
As I understand it, buying this on Bandcamp gives you 12 tracks? Even though seeing the streaming version shows only 9? That sounds to me like an exclusive 12 track edition on Bandcamp that should clearly have a separate release.
And yes, that leaves the odd case that the Bandcamp release will have 12 tracks, but 9 recordings as those three bonus tracks 10,11,12 will be linked to the same as 1,8,9. Same recordings, different masterings.

I’ve made an edit based on your advice which I believe makes sense 
I also have submitted edits for merging track 10, track 11 and track 12 as well as one for… all recordings on that release since it appears the original submission missed linking them so it made all duplicates (not linking 1-9).
