Two series with the same discogs link. It’s the same series. 1 Release group serie and 1 release serie. Wich one one should it be and how do I merge them.
Merge series
You are about to merge all these series into a single one. Please select the series all others should be merged into:
I think you need to change one so that both series are the same type, either both release series or both release group series, then they should be able to be merged.
This is a hard one to answer as both are correct. It is both a Release Series and Release Group Series. Probably the RG series makes more sense as the only thing in these RGs are 2in1 releases. And the Release Series would need more updating to add all the missing versions of the releases.
If, for example, they reissued these “2in1” releases as a new “double disc releases” instead of the old “2in1” branding then I’d see a reason to have two Release Series.
I saw one of the release groups, like this, in the release series, for this 2 in 1 release, where the other release in same RG is not 2 in 1, but 2 Original Albums.
So, both are correct, but it’s more a release series, as often, for re-editions.
Thank you all for your help. Now I have another problem. I want to change this one to release group series but it is grey and it won’t let me change it
Yeah, it is confusing as both answers can be correct. But @jesus2099 has spotted a different series mixed in called “2 Original Albums” then I would agree this should be a Release Series for the “2 for 1” items.
When you look at the Release Series now you can see a few other examples of “2 Original Albums” instead of “2 for 1” logos. Meaning you really have two Release Series here - “2 for 1” and “2 Original Albums”
Actually… the closer I look, the weirder the mess. Some “2 Original Album” releases seems to be in both Release Series. Which is clearly wrong. ( example )
It is the example I tried to give, but didn’t spend much time going through everything in these Series to make a decision.
